... and most of all, thanks to Karim for running the show. It was a lot of fun. A great experiment.

thanks a lot for running this whole thing, karim. a lot of effort on your (and everyone else's) part.

i thought teams 3, 4 and 6 were as good as or better than mine. but using the i'm-with-stupid-mentality of popular over best, i went with offense. it's easier to see offensive production in stats than defensive prowess. i thought that some fofc members might not know some of these guys and would have to rely mostly on stats.

and to think i wasn't initially invited to this party . . .

Thanks guys, it was a lot of fun. Makes me want EHM even more, trying to build "my" ideal team.

I couldn't believe that only one person bid on Messier. He was my first choice. It's strange coming from a Flames fan but Messier is my all-time favourite player. I guess seeing him beat up my Flames during the glory days of the Battle of Alberta left an impression on me when I was young.

I went for a modernized version of the Broad Street Bullies, a team my dad was in love with. I always wished I could have seen that team play. I've seen the tape of when they scared the Russians off the ice and when they clinched their second cup. I'll never forget hearing Beliveau get passionate about having to beat them in the 1976 finals "for the good of hockey". If the Canadiens lost, he feared every team would try and goon it up.

Now that I've cracked and made that admission, I wonder if I'm only a couple of steps away from wanting to tongue-kiss Jaromir Jagr and give Bobby Clarke a blowjob.

Congrats Wheels!

I thought your team was the strongest of the bunch from the get go. Well, next to my team!

Thanks for all the hard work, Karim. Great job. It was a lot of fun and a good hockey-based distraction from the whole Wings getting knocked out of the play-offs situation.

That was fun to watch and vote in, guys. Cool contest.

It was certainly fun to go through two nailbiters before losing (deservedly) in the finals.

OK, be honest folks... who here took the marketing approach and wrote things in their team summaries that they didn't really believe to be true (raises hand).
