Web Site Shows Photos Of Prostitutes' Alleged Customers

DALLAS -- Dallas police hope a little exposure will get "johns" to think twice. The DPD is posting pictures on its Web site of people busted for allegedly soliciting prostitution. The Internet page not only has pictures of the alleged Johns, but their names, birth dates and hometowns, too. The photo gallery is under the heading of "indecency related offenses," and police officials said it's pretty popular.Lt. John Dagen said in the first 24 hours alone, the site had more than 4,100 hits. He said they even had two women call the department, after hearing their husbands' pictures were posted on the Web site.

only after being proven guilty.....much like our Justive system is SUPPOSED to be its "innocent until proven guilty in a court of law" and I believe that these people could sue for defamation of character for this.

Yeah, I imagine there will be quick legal action against this by at least one of the "alleged" johns. Still, it's pretty damned funny.

Personally, I don't see how you get "accidentally" busted for soliciting a prostitute. What's your defense? "Gee, your honor, I was just driving through a neighborhood full of crack addicts and gangsters, and offered the nice lady a ride."

More like "definition of character" if you ask me

Actually, as long as they're represented as having been arrested & charged (and presuming that's actually the case with those pictured) then there's really no grounds I can see to sue for anything. "Arrested & charged" is accurate, the arrest, charges, related photos & documentation are generally public record at that point.

They did this here in phildelphia also there pictures were in the daily news. One of the johns buys concrete from my moms work. He is also married.

Exactly. This site accurately describes these people as having been arrested. Now, if someone was at the police station to file a stolen property report and somehow ended up on the site as having been arrested for prostitution, then you've got a case.

Most of these guys appear to have had their picture taken whil getting in their car. But they're all looking at the camera, not even attempting to hide their face. I'm waiting to run across someone smiling or posing with the prostitute they got arrested with.

Arrests are a matter of public record and have been published in newspapers for years.
