Jermaine Taylor vs. Raul Marquez
I didn't see either fight last night and don't know how it played out. I decided why not give a round-by-round of the two fights (main even Marco Antonia Berrera vs. Paulie Ayala) for those who also didn't get to see them or knows what happened. The replay is on HBO2 right now.

Round 1
Taylor looking good against yet another blown up junior middleweight. His jab is snapping good and he's coming in with the left hook as well (maybe a new weapon for him). Marquez tries to turn it into a brawl a few times and at the end of the round, Marquez landed two good shots. Round to Taylor (10-9 Taylor) |

Round 2
Taylor's hand speed is just too much for Marquez. He's almost landing at will. Marquez can't get anything going at all. This referee is horrible. He tells them to stop punching, then slowly walks over and breaks them up. Takes way too much time to do his job. Round to Taylor (20-18 Taylor) |

Round 3
Taylor wins another round easily. He's throwing the right hook a lot more now and is catching Marquez half of the time with it. Near the end of the round, Taylor connect with (I think) a left uppercut that snapped Marquez's head back. I don't think this one is going to go 12 unless a huge turnaround happens. Round to Taylor (30-27 Taylor) |

Round 4
Another easy round for Taylor. Marquez is starting to wrestle more now but Taylor is keeping his cool and sticking the jab perfectly and is connecting with some combinations as well. Round to Taylor (40-36 Taylor) |

Round 5
Accidental head butt causes a cut on Taylor's left eye. Regardless, he still keeps doing his thing and wins another round easily. The cut is very minor. Round to Taylor (50-45 Taylor) |

Round 6
Taylor's cornerman told him to stay to the outside and he pretty much did. He's killing Marquez from the outside. Round to Taylor (60-54 Taylor) |

Round 8
Best punch of the round was a hook by Marquez that landed clean, but it didn't phase Taylor at all. And that was Marquez's only good punch of the round. Taylor still dominated most of the round. Round to Taylor (80-72 Taylor) |

Round 9
The fight died down quite a bit as they kept getting tangled. During one of the tangles, Taylor got turned around and Marquez popped him in the back of the head. As the round came to the end, Taylor landed several shots, opened a cut over Marquez's right eye and knocked him down. He got up but after the round was over, the fight was stopped and Tayler gets the TKO victory. |
