Uh Oh... Fremont Wolverines V.89
There's nothing like getting addicted to a new game and that is what has happened to me with Hattrick. I finally received my team after a LONG 4 day wait
and have just spent the past 3 hours examining it.I have background with CM and have played soccer for years, but HT is all new.

Arena: The Castle of Champions
Should I improve the seating now or wait a few weeks to spend that money? The Club
Might add a few more spokespersons in the upcoming weeks to total 10 The King's Royal Family

THE COACH
Stan Truman (35611812) 47 years, passable form, healthy A weak trainer who is fond of attacking A sympathetic guy who is balanced and honest. Has outstanding experience and wretched leadership abilities. Ok. I know this guy sucks. With the low amount of funds that I have. I'm probably going to look for a cheap guy with good experience or I'll just have to wait it out. One more thing: How important is experience for a coach? I'm sure it helps but how low can you go? Nationality: USA Total Skill Index (TSI): 0 (0 US$) Wage: 500 US$/week Owner: Fremont Wolverines Warnings: 0 Stamina: disastrous Goaltending: disastrous Playmaking: wretched Passing: disastrous Winger: disastrous Defending: wretched Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: poor

Experience is only important if you are going to be converting a player into a coach. Experience has no factor in the gameplay itself.

We are obviously going to have to outscore the opponents with either of these two in net. Hopefully my trainees will make me some money and this will be one of the first spots that is improved. Cook was my first YP and he is now transfer listed. He will be fired if nobody takes him.

Yeah, it just lowers the cost of converting (i.e. a solid experience guy would cost $700K whereas a brilliant experience guy would cost $500K or something like that). But he's already your coach so it doesn't matter. SI

Passable trainer = coaching skill, how quickly he trains players, it also affects some other things in the game like your players' form. Poor leadership = how well he does at maintaining team spirit. Team spirit has a significant effect on your midfield performance, and your midfield performance is perhaps the largest single indicator in how you'll do in a match. (Not the only indicator, but it's not for nothing that many long-time Hattrick players feel that midfield is still a bit overpowered.) |

Mr. Wednesday - Thanks for the great replies. Just went out and got a passable/poor coach.
SI - Ok, I get it now. Thought that maybe a more experienced coach had more of an affect on his players. FM - Thanks.

Midtown Metros are a winger trainer, IIRC. They're semi-active at USCHO.
You are correct that Hatstats does not have info on division VI. There are just too many teams there. Looking at the ratings from that series in Hatstats, it will be a tall order to finish fifth; the top six were all in the 60's in NSI, and most new teams that I've paid attention to take at least a half a season or so to reach the mid-50's consistently. You're a bit hampered by a lack of midfielders; if you have any money left over once you take care of trainees and possibly a stadium upgrade, you should think about trying to pick up a passable or solid playmaker to slot in there. Another note, Martin Berry is halfway to being an anti-clown. You can't afford to dump him outright, because his skills are decent, but he's not a guy you want keeping around for the long term -- his experience isn't high enough for him to be a coaching prospect any time soon, and you'll need a better team leader for team spirit reasons eventually. |

I would not train general (form), especially before training stamina. Any gains you get in form will be negated once you train stamina. I would train stamina first, and then if you MUST train form, then do it after your done with stamina. Honestly, I think you should just train at 100% with a 9-1 combination of coaches and your form will eventually be fine without having to waste training on general.

Cup Game, Rd. 1
6446 spectators had come to Massachusetts Emporium this cloudy day. Massachusetts had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Henning - Parks, Manley, Shaw, Staton - Barron, Rice, Rasmussen, Locke - Black, Van Booven. Wolverines had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. They fielded: Manuel - Pierce, Bernstein, Zeigler - Tharp, Finley, Mattox, Mccrary - Arias, Druff, Myers. Wolverines clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could, using their talent for it. The referee showed Wolveriness Ed Pierce the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. In the games 3rd minute Anthony Mccrary almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a spectacular scissors shot just past the bar. Wolverines appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only weak. One of many good passes from Allen Tharp at the wing was recieved and skillfully taken care of by Eric Druff, scoring for Wolverines to 0 - 1. In the 40:th minute Samuel Locke went down in a suspected penalty situation after a challenge from the visitors right guard, but the referee, having a good line of sight, signalled to keep on playing. 0 - 1 was the half-time score. Massachusetts held the ball, with a clear 51 percent possession rate. had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came The Wolverines players spent the half-time break getting a rerun of the teams tactical organization and regained a passable organisation. A well placed corner kick from Vernon Van Booven was followed by Samuel Locke´s hard but accurate header. The nice combination meant goal for Massachusetts. The result now 1-1. 57 minutes into the game Mick ZeiglerRaymond Weston. Vernon Van Booven gave Massachusetts the lead with 2 - 1 on a beautiful free kick. Steven Finley almost scored an equalising goal for Wolverines in the 67:th minute, but Gil Henning made an excellent save, tipping the awkwardly curled shot past the post. Wolverines appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. Wolverines held the ball, with a clear 54 percent possession rate. The most dominating Massachusetts player was without a doubt Jack Parks. However, Vernon Van Booven made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Wolverines player was without a doubt Anthony Mccrary. Dwight Manuel on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 1.

First, if I'm training stamina I don't have to play a 3-4-3. Duh!!!:o I played CA because I figured my MF would suck, which they did, and I wanted to help out my defenders. Ended up being that my MF won the battle, how the hell did that happen, for most of the game and it did not benefit me. "Best Players" is almost an oxy-moron in this game. Especially, Dwight Manual. Ha. The guy is a bum. Oops. TS might drop for that comment.

dude, looking at your ratings, you got jobbed. You should have won that game, tough luck... The midfield was a wash, and you beat his defenses in ratings with your attacks that they did the other way around. Anyway, a close one...
Good luck in league play! FM

dola, best player is simply the player with the most stars, even if two are tied, the game engine knows who has the better hidden decimal... No matter if you have another guy who scored 4 goals, the one with the most stars will get player of the game status...

For future reference, don't CA if you're going to win the midfield. You take the midfield penalty but don't get any CA opportunities.

TRAINING Stamina training went well this week. All but 6 players went up a level and 3 were starters. F Oscar Arias, IM Steven Finley and WB Allen Tharp.
I am going to train stamina one more week and then we'll start our scoring training regimen. Form Report
Form increase (players) = 9 Form increase (levels) = 9Form decrease (players) = 3 Form decrease (levels) = 4 Total Form (+/-) = +6 Total Form (+/-) = +5 DEF Raymond Weston's drop in form is unfortunate due to the 1 week injury to Mick Ziegler. Backup midfielder, Nedo Fasoli, dropped two levels and he is one of the 6 guys who didn't pop from our staimna training. ![]() News
Has weak experience and poor leadership abilities.
This is a huge upgrade from GK Dwight Manual who is currently rated weak at GK.
That's all for now. Stay tuned for a preview of our first league game coming soon. Thanks to all those who are reading this dynasty and also to those that have given any information or feedback.

Wow, really great to see another HT Dynasty thread. Also cool because it's your first season and looking back, I wished I'd kept more of a log of what went on in my first season.

Week 1: V.89 Preview
Cougs vs. LazyDragons
This is a battle of last season's top 2 teams. The Cougs won both matchups last season as they shutout the Dragons 3-0 in each game. Neither team has any significant injuries. The Cougs should win this game. Southside Gunners vs. Midtown Metros The two teams split the season series last year. Each team won at home by a score of 2-0. Neither team has any significant injuries. I'm going to give the Gunners the edge here because it is a home game; however, it should be close. Quakes vs. Fargo Fury This is the first game in V.89 for the Fury. Neither team has any significant injuries. This game should be interesting. The Fury seem to play a 4-4-2 and the Quakes love to use the AOW tactic. I'm going to give the edge to the Quakes here. Wolverines vs. boca juniors united Well, it looks like I'm playing a team that is not cared for. Their owner has not logged in since they received their team. With that said, I have a decided advantage on offense, but their defense has me beat. Hopefully, the addition of Carrizo in net will boost our defense. Since the owner is not around, I'm going to let the cat out of the bag early. We are going to play a 3-5-2, PIC and AIM. Our goal is to dominate the midfield in this battle of "disasterous" rated midfield squads and get the ball to our scorers. ***Note: Starting in week 3, my previews will include an NSI analysis as well.

V.89 - Week 1
4755 spectators had come to The Castle of Champions this cloudy day. Wolverines tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Carrizo - Pierce, Bernstein, Tharp - Myers, Finley, Mattox, Barry, Mccrary - Arias, Druff. united tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Jones - Rector, Valadez, Wilbanks, Cavazos - Foote, Stoddard, Dye, Prince - Loomis, Adam. Wolverines mostly ignored the flanks in favour of attacks in the middle. Gordon Mattox gave his Wolverines the lead with 1 - 0, as he successfully challenged both the guests central defenders, then placed the ball unreachably at the goaltenders right post. Óscar Arias almost managed to score another goal for Wolverines, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. united´s Seth Dye left the field after 29 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was Miles Sowers. Wolverines seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and were down to the weak level of organisation. Óscar Arias almost managed to score another goal for Wolverines, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. After an industrious effort down the middle Óscar Arias could have closed the game off in the 43rd minute, but his finishing shot hit the post. The teams went for a half-time break at 1 - 0.
Wolverines held the ball, with a clear 69 percent possession rate. Wolverines coach had an extra briefing during the break, and after that his players had passable organisation. In the 64:th minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Nate Bernstein dashed through, knocking home 2 - 0 for Wolverines. By now Wolverines were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. The home side´s Steven Finley came close to extending the lead in the 66:th minute. His shot came in off the right hand side but Harvey Jones managed saving with a fingernail. In the 71st minute Wolveriness Eric Druff received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. In the 72nd minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as Óscar Arias dashed through, knocking home 3 - 0 for Wolverines. Ed Pierce behaved like an inexperienced youth player in the 72nd minute as he gave the ball away to an opponent. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Wolverines put their lead ahead another goal as Eric Druff struck home the 4 - 0 goal, after an attack from the left setting him up unmarked with the keeper. In the games 81st minute, Eric Druff could have extended the lead, but his very hard free kick went just over the bar. Wolverines held the ball, with a clear 81 percent possession rate.
Most important Wolverines player was Anthony Mccrary. Martin Barry was a disappointment, however. united´s best player was Travis Rector. Dwayne Valadez was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 0.
Postgame Match Report
Total player experience: wretched VS.
Total player experience: wretched
As I expected, we were able to win against this team that basically has no owner. Didn't see a 4-0 outcome, but heck, I'll take it. The offense onslaught was led by McCrary, Mattox and Druff. I have some formation ideas for these 3, but I'll keep that to myself for now. Now if only Arias could finish. He had 4 scoring chances and only finished one. Hopefully he will learn how to finish especially when we start our scoring training regimen next week. I was disappointed with Carrizo's performance which can be attributed to his poor form. On a side note, DEF Mick Zeigler is now bruised and we are hoping he will be ready for next week's league game.

You might want to think about pairing the defense with the opposing attack in the ratings presentation, rather than defense vs. defense and attack vs. attack.

International Friendly
We traveled to Switzerland to play V.40 team, Aeugi FC. 6 players saw their first action for the Wolverines overseas.
Our top players, Mattox, McCrary and our two forwards watched the game from the bench. We didn't expect much from our B-squad and that is what we got. We lost 3-0 and did not get the turnout or revenue that we wanted. The 27,224 seat stadium only attracted 1572 fans to watch this friendly on a partly cloudy day. Our best player was backup forward, Mauricio Grubbs. Checkout my clubhouse located at the link below :http://http://club.hattrick.org/kingfc/default.asp Mr. W - good pt. Will change the setup for the next league game wrapup.

TRAINING
Stamina training went fairly well this week. Allen Tharp and Nedo Fasoli both popped 2 levels of stamina. All but 5 players went up a level; however, all of them were starters. We now have 10 players with a stamina level of solid or higher. This week I will start my scoring training program. Form Report
Form increase (players) = 5 Form increase (levels) = 5
Form decrease (players) = 5 Form decrease (levels) = 5Total Form (+/-) = 0 Total Form (+/-) = 0 The player that I'm worried about the most is GK Orlando Carrizo. His form has now dropped to wretched following this week's training. News
Has wretched experience and inadequate leadership abilities. Speciality: Unpredictable
Li will start for us this coming week in our league game. Up next is the weekly update so stay tuned.

I think I'll be keeping Tom. He is only inadequate in scoring but he is also only 17 years old. Would he qualify to be a clown or does he need more experience? Still unsure on how a clown works.

Week 2 - V.89 Preview
Note: Team (HSR)
Fargo Fury (76) vs. Cougs (141) This should be an easy game for the Cougs. They should dominate the midfield and improve to 2-0 on the season. This is the first meeting between these two teams. boca united jrs. (64) vs. Southside Gunners (134) This is another game that should be no contest. BUJ is the team that we dominated last week and is basically ownerless. The Gunners will have little problem here. Midtown Metros (122) vs. Quakes (136) The V.89 game of the week pits the 0-1 Metros against the 1-0 Quakes. Last season the Metros won 4-1 and 2-1 in the two season matchups. The Quakes seemingly have improved their midfield and had the best HSR in week 1 at the MF position, but they will be on the road. This one should be intersting to say the least. LazyDragons (122) vs. Fremont Wolverines (78) We are going to face one of the best teams in V.89. The got smacked around last week by the Cougs and will probably take their frustration out on us. I'm going to change some things up as I still look for the best team to put on the field in a league match. If I can keep the game within two goals, I'd see it as a huge accomplishment.

Season 23 - Week 2
18217 spectators had come to LazyDragons Arena this cloudy day. LazyDragons had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Schaffer - Chadwick, Caballero, Alderman - Maestro, Jen-Hsun, Pradhan, Rubio, Ponder - Anderson, Soo-Myong. Wolverines tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. The following players had been chosen: Carrizo - Zeigler, Li, Bernstein - Tharp, Mattox, Barry, Mccrary - Arias, Druff, Grubbs. Wolverines saw most attack opportunites on the wings and were directing their passes that way. LazyDragons tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but kept getting stuck on the visitors defenders. Fernando Maestro sprinted between the opposing defenders after 3 minutes, but the keeper deflected Shan Soo-Myong's shot. LazyDragons took the lead in the 4:th minute of the game by 1 to 0, as John Anderson elegantly received a pass going deep, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. John Anderson almost managed to score another goal for LazyDragons, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. After 33 minutes Rafa Rubio put LazyDragons ahead 2 - 0 as he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. The structure of the game started to change as LazyDragons decided to pull back and meet their opponents in the defensive zone. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Rafa Rubio squirmed himself through the central defense line in the 37:th minute, asserting the lead to 3 - 0. The teams went for a half-time break at 3 - 0.
LazyDragons held the ball, with a clear 82 percent possession rate. LazyDragons´s Robert Caballero had an excellent opportunity in the 47:th minute, shooting on a through ball, but he missed the goal by miles! A great save by goaltender Orlando Carrizo in the 68:th minute kept the visitors in the game as Shan Soo-Myong struck from the left with a real cannonball. A speedy charge from the left side of the field put LazyDragons lead up with 4 - 0. Rafa Rubio finished that one off competently, firing from an acute angle. At that, Rafa Rubio was noted down for a hat trick. In the 74:th minute of the match the visitors central line of defence had to look on as John Anderson dashed through, knocking home 5 - 0 for LazyDragons. Shan Soo-Myong almost managed to score another goal for LazyDragons, but his header was tipped to a corner by the visitors goalie. LazyDragons, bringing the final ball possession rate to 85 percent, dominated the battle.
The most dominating LazyDragons player was without a doubt Rafa Rubio. Robert Caballero was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Wolverines player was without a doubt Anthony Mccrary. Orlando Carrizo on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 0.
Postgame Match Report
Total player experience: wretched VS.
Total player experience: poor
This game was a little disappointing and brought me back to earth. I was hoping to give the Dragons a bit of struggle knowing full well that I would end up losing in the end. However, I did not see, or maybe I just didn't want to see, me getting my butt kicked so soundly. I'm happy that our attack made a strong showing and now after 2 weeks we have the 4th strongest attack in V.89. The defense should get better expecially if Carrizo can ever get his form up. He is currently at wretched and not helping us out very much. We did get an experience pop after this game. GK Carrizo is now at inadequate as he popped from weak. Next week the schedule isn't any kinder as the Cougs come to the Castle of Champions. V.89 Recap
No real surprises this weak. The Cougs seemingly played their backup squad and handily beat the Fury. The Gunners had little struggle demolishing the ownerless BUJ squad. As for the game of the week. It went to the half tied 2-2 and the Quakes held the possession battle 53-47. But in the second half, the Quakes Alejandro Torales got sent off with a RED card in the 61st minute. The home team was able to take full advantage with the man up as they scored 2 goals in the next 7 minutes.

U.S. Friendly This week we traveled to Kentucky to take on Baston, a series VI. team. Recently pulled Tom O'Connor made his debut in this game.
Are B-squad is really weak and we lost this game 0-4. We didn't really get anything good out of this game other than our scoring training. Forward Des Meyers was our best player on the field. The 16,000 capacity stadium only had 566 people show up for a nice sunny day game. Reserve midfielder, Nedo Fasoli picked up a knock during the game, but he was able to stay in the game a play through the pain. He is now bruised. The fiery Ed Pierce picked up 2 yellow cards and was sent to the showers early.

TRAINING Our scoring program started this week. 6 players received training, but nobody popped. Since I am a new team I have no clue when these guys will pop. I have all the charts, but without a "last pop" date to go by I have to take a wait and see approach.
One question. I played Tom O'Connor at Forward in my friendly, but according to HAM he did not receive any training. Instead it went to a player that was playing Center Mid. Is HAM probably wrong or is there something wrong? Form Report
Form increase (players) = 11 Form increase (levels) = 13
Form decrease (players) = 2 Form decrease (levels) = 2Total Form Players (+/-) = 9 Total Form Levels (+/-) = 11 FINALLY! Our GK Carrizo had his form go up. He jumped up 2 levels from wretched to weak. The other player who went up multiple levels was F Des Meyers who is now in passable form.
F Oscar Arias dropped from inadequate to weak and MF Nedo Fasoli dropped to poor form following a game that he was bruised in. As a team we have 12 players in passable form. News

Week 3 - V.89 Preview
Note: Team (Wk.2 HSR)
Southside Gunners (131) vs. LazyDragons (134) This is the V.89 game of the week. Last season both teams won on each other's home turf. The Dragons lead the series 3 to 2. Both teams will employ a 3-5-2 formation and the midfield edge should go to the Dragons. Dragons have averaged a midfield (MF) HSR of 48 and the Gunners have averaged an HSR of 34.5. The Gunners have the better defensive alignment with a season avg. of 62 compared to the Dragons 42.5. The attacks are very even with the Dragons holding a small 37.5 to 35 advantage. Quakes (130) vs. boca united jrs. (65) BUJ is still without an active owner and this will be an easy win for the Quakes. Fargo Fury (77) vs. Midtown Metros (135) The Metros travel to Fargo for the first ever matchup between the two squads. The Metros hold the advantage in every aspect of the field and should have little trouble against the developing Fargo squad. Fargo played a 4-4-2 last week which improved their defense and midfield HSR from week one when they played a 4-3-3. Midtown will come with an AOW tactic and a 3-5-2 formation. Fremont Wolverines (87) vs. Cougs (112) This will be our first look at the V.89 defending champions. I'm not sure if they will play their backups like they did last week against the Fury or if they will play their starters like they did in week 1. The Cougs hold a big advantage in the midfield and on defense. We have a very good attack and the key will be our ability to get them the ball.
