OT - Bush Caught With Dead Hooker (Ping: Fritz)

And a male one at that: Lollapalooza Canceled

So much for a great lineup.

I wouldn't have gone, but it was one of the strongest lineups for a tour I have seen. Of course it would have been stronger in 1994.

That's funny, at the King's X forums, the consensus is that that lineup sucked donkey balls, aside from the Pixies. And I think that underscores the problem with this lineup - for years, they've drawn heavily from the hard rock/alt/metal band rosters, and then all of a sudden, they do a 180 and field a roster of bands, the fans of which have probably only occasionally had reason to go to a Lollapalooza show.

Look at last year - Jane's Addiction, Audioslave, QOTSA, Incubus, A Perfect Circle...you can't replace them with an old, fat Morrisey, Wilco, a critic's darling that no one I know has heard or likes, Sonic Youth and PJ Harvey, both of whom immediately scream Lollapalooza 1991!, and Flaming Lips, a cool band but hardly a huge draw (similar to putting They Might Be Giants on the bill).

This makes perfect sense to me.
