Internet Trouble
I have just recently been having intermittent connection to the internet. My internet has been off and on for the last 4 days or so. It will work for a while and then it will just time out when trying to reach a site. I have a cable modem and have had that same modem for a couple of years. I haven't had any problems with it or my service at all until this. I guess my first question is whether it sounds like it is my modem or my cable that is the culprit. I assume that if I were to call my cable company, Comcast, they will say it is the modem. My first thought is to buy a new modem. If that doesn't work, then I can take it back, and it must be Comcast's fault. I'm sure that this is entirely too vague to be answered by someone on here, but I've gotten help several times on this board, and I'm hoping to get some help one more time. I'm also hoping that my connection will be okay long enough to see any answers given.

call Comcast first - they SHOULD have some decent troubleshooting tools to walk you through.

I've had a problem with my cable internet through Comcast it's intermittent like that. The problem is with the signal strength in my apartment being way too weak (less then half normal).
