OOTP- Hitters with pitching skills?

I hadn't seen or heard anything about this, but there is a player on my team, that apparently has pitching skills, and could conceivably pitch. Is this a fluke or have other people had this too? It would be kinda fun to get him in a la Jose Oquendo, Danny Heep, Jose Canseco, etc.

I've seen it several times. I've actually had a player come up that I started off as a hitter in my farm system, wasn't going anywhere, so I made him a reliever, and he ended up being a pretty servicable one for another team by the age of 26 or so. Thats the only example I've seen of that, but there have been 1 or 2 instances where I've drafted a guy and have had to make a real decision on whether the guy should be a hitter or a pitcher.

In my fictional league that I just started, there were about 10 relievers who also played another position and were fair hitters. That particular fantasy draft seemed a little high, but I've seen it my other fantasy league as well. It's a nice twist, especially considering that this is starting to occur IRL a little more often.

Hmm...I have a SP/RP in A-ball who is a 5/5 in hits, and is a switchie....no position though, and the league rules don't allow position learning. So I think the most I can do with the guy is play around with DH'ing him in the minors. Which is too bad, he'd be one of the better hitters in my system.
