Guesstimates Restart #3 Results
We had 14 entrants in this Guesstimates. The first five sets of numbers are your answers, the second 5 columns are the amount incorrect you were. The correct answers are at the top of the first five columns of numbers, in respective question order. The Questions 1. As many people may know, the 2004 World Series Of Poker (WSOP) $10,000 No-Limit Hold 'Em event featured an astounding 2,500 competitors. Last year's event only contained approximately 800 players. But, the WSOP isn't limited to that one tournament; in fact, the month-long event has 33 events. The main event ($10,000 championship) was on the last day. The first event was the Casino Employee's Limit Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament, won by Carl "Coach" Nessel. How many players entered this tournament? There were 279 entrants. 1. MJ4H - 5 points T2. henry296 - 3.5 points T2. finkets - 3.5 points 4. JeeberD - 2 points 5. RainRaven - 1 point 2. Who'duve thunk it? Andorra (a small country bordering France to the West and Spain to the East) has the greatest life expectancy in the world. What is the life expectancy in Andorra? 83.49 years Alf - 5 EagleFan - 4 wade moore - 3 MJ4H - 2 General Mike - 1 3. The sinking of the Titanic in 1912 was an enormous tragedy that cost thousands of lives. How much did a first-class ticket onto the Titanic cost (in 1912 dollars)? This one threw people way off; the answer was $4,350. I'm guessing that's ~$200k current-day dollars. General Mike - 5 JeeberD - 4 MJ4H - 3 EagleFan - 2 kingfc22 - 1 4. The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the longest bridges in the world. If you aren't familiar, it is over a mile long, and is a suspension bridge, with two very large cables weighing 11,000 tons each supporting it. Connecting the surface of the bridge to these cables are long wires... how many of these wires does the bridge contain? Picture of the bridge can be found here. This was a tough one; there are 25,572 wires. albionmoonlight - 5 EagleFan - 4 Alf - 3 RR - 2 MJ4H - 1 5. How many pints of beer were consumed at Munich's Oktoberfest in 2003? (there were 6.3 million visitors) This one was pretty easy (I thought)... - 13,165,066 pints - just over two per person. timmynausea - 5 Radii - 4 MJ4H - 3 JeeberD - 2 RR - 1 The bronze goes to............ Alf and JeeberD with 8 points. The silver goes to............. EagleFan with 10 points. And our runaway winner of the gold medal goes to.......... MattJones4Heisman. CONGRATS TO MJ4H on the big win (he scored points on every question), and sorry it took so long for the results, and that the questions were too hard!!!!! I like being a participant better than host. ![]()

Got a couple of questions done. It is tougher than I thought. If I don't have it done by tomorrow I will pass on the responsibility.
