I reserved at EBGames, and they told me a couple of weeks ago that they'd try to get it in on Monday. I called this afternoon, and I was told that they have a list of people who will be able to pick it up on Monday. I don't know whether I'm on the list or not.

If you wanna see some really crazy NCAA fans go to Operation Sports. People there are calling their local EBGames every 5 minutes to ask if they got a package yet. Even worse they are driving to their local UPS and seeing if they can take the package off the truck. Amazing.

I guess I'm not one to critize how you spend your free time, but does 1 day really make that much of a difference? I guess the age group there really matters (being 14 and 15 I guess a day can seem like an eternity for your favorite game). There really hasn't been much out there in entertainment, whether it be video games or movies, that I feel the need to be there for opening day, or release date for.

*shudders * I just realized that I'm getting old.

If you're not THAT stoked over NCAA 2005, you're either not a college football game fan, or you're getting old.

HAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!!!

Seriously, even if they DO happen to find the package, what do they think, the UPS guys will just kind of open it up for them and give them a copy of the game?

Jeepers creepers...

I get this vision of 100 crazed ncaa 2005 fans shaking and rocking a ups truck to tip it over and take a copy of ncaa 2005

Thumbs up

By pure chance, there was a sticker coupon on the front of my Sunday paper with 10% off from Gamestop where I happened to preorder it anyways.

Between the Circuit City clearance where I got 8 x-box games for $40 and this The Boss will have plenty of ammo for one of her "projects".

I predict a complete relandscaping of the front yard.

I once drove 100 miles to get a copy of FPS Baseball '98. Boy was I pissed off when the game wouldn't even play after loading it. Lesson learned.

I won't be able to resist a dynasty with USC. Once that dynasty becomes too boring from constant domination, then I will start a crappy team - maybe Army again. Maybe this time, I'll actually finish a dynasty.

Any word on if you're getting your game Monday? If so, I may just have to run over to the Uptown store instead of the New Orleans Centre store (assuming that I'm not on their "list" of people who can get it Monday).

Pumpy's pumped!

Pumpy's pumped!

I was told that I *may* be able to pick it up in the late afternoon/early evening of Monday when I asked on Friday. There is no particular list at this store. They just aren't sure if they will have it available by Monday afternoon/evening or not til Tuesday morning. I was told it will definitely be available by Tuesday morning at the latest.

I'll post on here tomorrow afternoon if I get it (I'm glad I get done work at 4:00 PM tomorrow )

Edited to add: I'm also glad that I have enough control of my schedule to give myself Tuesday completely off

I have to wait for next weekend, no choice unless I don't have to leave for the road tomorrow as normal. Thats ok, I would rather get home and play it on my 53" widescreen then play it first on the 9" TV take on the truck.........

I wasn't even going to buy this game this year since I got it last year. I usually only get console sports games every other year, and with Gran Turismo 4 and some other games coming out this fall I figured I better save for those. Then I saw the new features and started to droul........i want it

I ordered it online because our local stores had trouble with angry fans last year, they decided to give out coupons to those who bought it through the gamespot store. I got it 10% off, but since it's going to ship overnight and arrive Tuesday, I'll still have to pay the same price as those who go into the store and buy it. On the plus side, I don't to be around 20 angry nerds in a small store this year.

I'll be getting it probably Tuesday or Wednesday, but since I won't be starting a career until I can get a roster set, I'm not in that big of a hurry.

Not quite yet. The teams I hate have quite the asshat contingency in their fandom from my dealings. I have not observed this as of yet from the teams coming into the Big East.

I look forward to some good games against the Bearcats. Rutgers may not be great on the road, but the RAC is the best homecourt in the Big East.

You can't mess with Rutgers at home.

BTW, Mike - did you hear about the committment from the tackle from Don Bosco? Looks like it's shaping up to be another 'best recruiting class ever' type of year.

I hate you guys that actually have "game stores" in your area. I have a gamestop that is located 35 miles from my house, but it is a piece of shit that only cares about those shitty nerd games I don't like. They wouldn't go pick up a shipment to get it to their customers a day earlier. Instead I have to buy most of my games online, and of course this year I chose the wrong company. EBgames sent out their orders on friday so people would get their games today, while Gamestop is sending their's out today. Oh well, one day wont kill me. They are really testing a 17 year old...

Yes, I did hear about it. Getting Roche almost makes up for Monroe getting away to Virginia This year, if the football team can put up a good year (go to a bowl), I think a top 25 class is definitely in the cards.

Off hand, we have 3 gamestops and 4 Eb games within a 50 mile radius.

So, what is the big deal? Is there that much difference between 04 and 05?

There are some serious excitement about this. Were you this excited last year?

What the hell am I missing? The lemming gene?

This series always has some serious hype, I know around here if you don't preorder you better not plan on getting it for a while.

I don't know what sets all of those other gamestops apart from the one closest to my place, but I called and they still insist they aren't going to get it in until TOMMOROW AFTERNOON. Now explain to me, that when the gamestop is located in the same city as the Electronic Arts headquarters, how it takes nearly 48 hours to get a shipment of games?

Because they probably don't ship from EA HQ, they ship from wherever the game was actually manufactured.

I would think they would manufacture the game in more than one place. I just called a couple other places around here, and there's an EB games that doesn't expect to get the game in until Wednesday. Crazy...
