OT: PokerStars charging my CC...?

Without my authorization? Yes, this happened about a week after I put down the minimum $50 on PokerStars. I check my bank statement today and see that a week later my CC was charged ANOTHER $50 by pokerstars! 2 days later it was credited back to my account. I mean, I'm kinda freaking out, because what reason did they even have to charge my CC a second time? Or did someone somehow figure out my funky password and logged in with my username? However, I check my cashier there fairly often and didn't notice that there was an extra $50. Plus, why would someone just login and do a deposit? (and not blow my money somewhere?).

So yeah, I don't know what to think of this situation. It's like, if this is gonna happen, do I need to change my CC#? Or should I contact my bank about blocking payments from them? This is kind of baffling to me, as I haven't heard about anything like this happening before (and I semi-read up on CC fraud and stuff).

Any info/thoughts would be appreciated.

Also, check out my online texas holdem dynasty in the dynasty forums!!!

Sounds like they screwed up, thought you still needed to pay the $50, caught the error, and fixed it. So far sounds like an honest mistake that they put to rights. I'd definitely keep a close eye on the CC, though.

I think they just accidently ran the charge twice. I've had regular retailers do it to. Then caught the problem and credited your account. I would have no worries.

Agreed. I've had it happen to me 2 or 3 times in the last 5 years. As long as you monitor your charges, not a huge deal, IMHO.

Perhaps they saw some of your play and figured they'd save you some time
