Anyone have NHL EHM.
Saw NHL EHM on on sigame.com and was wodering if anyone here has it.
I also have a few questions: -If I e-download it do I still have to get an e-license, which I really don't like,or can I play it riight away? - Do the teams/leagues have past histories or do I start from scratch? -over time can I build a new arena for my team. -How is the recruiting and scouting feature? -Can I create a player? -Is it worth it. Thanks to all that respond.

There are 2-3 threads here that have a good bit of information & impressions about the game, should be in the first 2-3 pages of the general forum. (Not being snippy, I just think they'll give you a better overview of the various reactions to the game than this thread might).
Based upon the d'load version demo: 1) AFAIK, if you d'load, then you'll have to e-license to make the game function past 6 months. 2) I didn't notice the history info for sure, but I don't believe there's any all-time team records or anything like that built in. Players have histories, but if IIRC, that's only at the individual level. 3) "Recruiting" & scouting seems similar to CM, if you want to find players, you gotta go scouting for them (presuming fog-of-war option is on) 4) No idea about "create-a-player" 5) Given the number of issues that have been reported, particularly with regard to some ... strange ... contract/signing situations, I'd say that it isn't quite ready for primetime yet, or at least it wasn't solid enough to be something that I'm willing to pay for right now. On a more positive note, I'd say it isn't more than 1-2 patches away from being there. YMMV, so this is all FWIW. Jon |

There are histories in the game...all-time records too...though I noticed the Leafs record for points according to the game is Darryl Sittler, even though everyone in the world knows Doug Gilmour has the record with 127 points in 1992-93....
Scouting is annoying, the ideas for it are very good, but when scouting for the draft, it lacks.....There is no way to get scouting reports on draft eligible prospects without wanting to jump off a building.....Way too much clicking The NHL is not done very well imo....Strange moves galore...check my dying dynasty in the dynasty section...all NHL news there is in orange, for specifics..... I would suggest waiting for the upcoming patch to come out before buying it, but the demo costs nothing, so give it a chance......If they can fix some of the interface annoyances, the unrealistic NHL, and up the scoring for Junior Hockey, then it will be worth it....

There is no "create a player" feature in the game. Without an editor that isn't even a possiblity at this time. In the old days of CM3 (the engine that NHL EHM is built on) you could use an editor to change the name of an existing player and maybe even create a new one(?). But until someone comes out with an editor for this game, that is not a feature of this game.

Not really. I know personally that I don't knitpick that much about games, but I'm starting to see too many "glaring" mistakes in games. |
