Wow...Leisure Suit Larry is back!

I must be out of the loop, big time. Sierra is coming out with a new Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude. It's supposed to come out in October and it looks pretty cool. However, I might be the only one on the board who is actually excited about it. I first discovered LSL in the early 90's. My best friend and I would sneak into his dad's study and play the first version of the series, that game was the end of my innocence as a child. Fun times, fun times.

I think I first played this game in the 80's when it was a text sim. Anyone remember that? I don't know if it was called Liesure Suit Larry or not, but it was the same exact game, save it being a text sim.

Oh, I am sure there are plenty of fans here of that series. I know I loved it when I was younger. Lots of fun. Thanks for letting us know a new one is coming out.

I think the worst part about the new Leisure Suit Larry is that its going to be an XBOX exclusive.

You and me both.

Kings Quest
Quest for Glory
Leisure Suit Larry

Hell, I even enjoyed games such as Phreddy Fharkas Frontier Pharmacist (pretty sure not Sierra). Willy Beamish was cool too.

My Dad had this game, and I was never allowed to play it. One night he was playing it and didn't see me come in to the room and start watching him over his shoulder..I remember watching the screen and then asking my Dad what a "prophylactic" was. I was 12 or something and had no clue. His face turned so red, and I was grounded for a week for not knocking. Never did find out what it was until High School.

I think I'll have to get it for him for old time's sake...

No it's not. There's been a number of previews in PC gaming mags the last couple of months.

PC Gamer has a preview in this months' mag if you're intersted.

Since Al Lowe isn't on the project yet, I'm not holding my breath...

Just went to the website. I guess they don't have anything for free on it.

Go check out IGN's previews. That's where I first heard about it. Apparently, it's something along the lines of the original Larry's 'nephew' going to college and stuff.

Without Al Lowe's involvement, I have a feeling the right brand of humor won't make it into this one.

Tru dat...and don't forget Space Quest as mentioned, and I personally loved the Police Quest series as well.

Frontier Pharmacist actually was a Sierra game, and I do believe Al Lowe was even the lead writer on it? He had something to do with it I'm sure. Good game though.

Oh yeah, Police Quest was great as well. Never got into Space Quest.

I'm tempted to go to the underdogs and see if they have any of these games up for download. I wonder how well they'd work under XP?

Ahhh, Police Quest was awesome. After finishing the game, I used to love going back to points in the game and doing the MOST irresponsible things to get myself fired. Ahhh, the hapless drunks I used to shoot for no good reason...

Police Quest was one of my favorite games of my childhood with Space Quest a close second. I really wish they would make an updated version of Police Quest.

I *think* I've ran most of the PQ games under Xp, but I might be wrong on that.

Hey another one I know I've run in XP and found at the Underdogs is Blue Force. If you haven't played it and like Police Quest I highly suggest dl'ing it. Pretty good game, and made by a lot of the guys who worked on the PQ games.

Another one I forgot to add but that isn't straight Adventure is the Quest for Glory series! Those were some kickass games as well.

There's a company calling itself Tierra Entertainment that is upgrading some of the old classics. I think they've redone King's Quest I + II so far and are working on Quest for Glory now.

Right on.

Remember LSL1 when you go into the store to by a condom?

Striped or polka dots?
Peppermint or spearmint flavor?
Etc.

One of the funniest things ever in a PC game.

Anyone picked this up yet?

I saw it at EB, but $50.00 from a new programmer makes me a little nervous about this one.

I remember it too from the 90's, i was like 10 years old and a friend of my father played it on his computer. As the game was in English language, my father and his friend thought it would be nice for me to learn english while playing (of course they didn't know it was erotic). So i went to his home everyday to play it. After 3 days playing, we started to notice the goals of the game, talking with whores, pimps etc etc so my father's friend phoned my parents to tell them about it as he thought i was too young for that. My parents tried it and laughted a lot about it as i must admit it was a really funny game but they told me to learn english with other kind of games. Then i managed to get a copy of the game so i played it at home until i finished it, of course it improved my english a lot and also my knowledge about other stuff.....
I have played all the games from the LSL series, but none of them was as good as the first one.

Shorty, do you really not know this game/series, or are you trying to be a punk?
