Royal Lytham and Saint Anne's plays to a short 6850 yards and is a par 71.

36-35=71

Plenty of sand, 11 of you took lessons.

Like last week at St. Andrews, you will see 63-64's and you'll see some almost break 80.

Mar Mel and Deacon Palmer are the odds on favorites this week. Mar bounced back from 3rd round front 9 wobble to win, while Palmer shot 63-65 to close out the week.

Bettors are looking at what the Brits are calling the field golfers. Angus MacHaggis, N Waeltz, Todd Henry, and Al Mighty all have similar skills and graduated from the "Copy and Paste" Golf Academy. CnPGA Graduate Todd Henry had the best chance to win. If one plays well this weekend, then so should the others.

Round 1

Fog wiped out Friday's action, meaning that Rounds 1 and 2 will be played on the same day. Morning round tees of at 0700 BST while the Afternoon round tees off 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first round.

Ron Juckett has withdrawn this week, he injured his right wrist during the final round at St. Andrews and hopes to be healed for next week.

Currently 25 golfers are signed up for tour events. Starting next week, there will be a nine hole quakifier for those missing the cut. Last place stays home.

If you clicked on Peter Allis' description of the course, you'd know that he said that if the winds are up, scores are high.

Gentleman, the wind is up and scores are high. Everyone is thru 3, one golfer at +4, 2 at +3, only four in the field are undr par.

So, you've seen where they stand and a laundry list of front 9 accomplishments.

Here on the back, Driver dropped a shot on 10, Ton pulled back within one with his birdie.

AJ Tucker joined the gaggle in the lead at -3 with his birdie at 11. David Gonzalez pars 10, his second of the day, then birdies 11. A 71 would give Gonzalez wet dreams with all the birds and bogies so far.

Brian Fowler jumped into the lead with birdies on 11 and 12, Watts birdied 11 and bogied 12, Jones birdied 10, missed a par putt on 11.

Dylan Airhart birdied 10, and 11 to tie for the lead, but bogey on 12 dropped him back to -2. Todd Henry birdied 10 and 11 to be the first golfer to reach -4, but dropped shots at 12 and 13 have him back at -2. Jeebs Eckberg bogied 10, but caught lightning in a bottle on twelve as he holed his 223 yard approach shot for another DOUBLE EAGLE, two on the round today(Whit had the other), he then bogied 12. Al Mighty birdied 11.

Karl Schexnayder has made an incredible debut, birdie on 11 has him tied for the lead. Erick Dachel on the other edge of the ledger, bogey on 12 makes him +6. Mike Tokunaga birdied 11 and 13 to lead at -4, but double at 14 knocks him one back at -2. Jesse Ewiak bogied 11 and doubled 14.

Players are now showing some seperaion now as the morning round draws closer to conclusion. Luckily the winds have died down to a dull roar and the sun has come out, clearing up the remnants of the fog that blew out all yesterday's play.

First group off today is where your leaders are. Rookie Karl Schexnayder 15 to briefly hold the lead to himself, but Mike Tokunaga the Canadian Samoan registered birdies on 16 and 17 to pull into a tie for the lead. Jesse Ewiak bogied 15, but birdied 16 and 17, ending on a roll. They stand on 18 tee with a chance to be last off this afternoon. The FGT has decided to reseed foursomes for this afternoon's round giving a better show for viewers.

The groupngs today were supposed to have the hottest golfers off last and have the advantage of knowing what was posted ahead of them. Apparently Mar Mell missed that memo, his bogey at 11 drops him to a +5. Kevin Heath, did get it, on the other hand. Birdie at 11 followed by bogey at 12 has him one back at -3. Ty Witt birdied 10 he's 3 back.

Brian Fowler is the other golfer at -3. He rebounded nicely from a bogey on 14 with a birdie at 15. Sarah Juckett also rebounded from bogey at 14, +3 is respectable today. Tim Watts has played his way in contention, bidies at 13 and 15 have vaulted him 2 back. Matt Jones dropped a shot at 14.

The all-UK foursome of Yellope, MacHaggis, Driver, and Ton have not, so far, generated tons of excitement. Yellope birdied 11, but went ob on 12 leading to a triple. Angus doubled 11 and 13. Drvier birdied 11, while Ton bogied 12 before birdie on 13.

David Gonzalez still has only two pars on his card. bogey on 12, birdie on 13, bogey on 14. AJ Tucker bogied 14 to drop to 2 back. Shane Kormelink may need to switch drivers and try putting the ball in play, bogey at 12 and double at 13 have dropped him well off the pace. N Waeltz birdied 12 to join the frenzy at -3, but a double at 13 and bogey at 14 have put him level.

Todd Henry bogied 14, Jeeebs Eckberg bogied 16, while Al Mighty bogied 15, then birdied 16.

Well the board certainly has a European feel to it, doesn't it. Karl Schexnayder birdied the last to post 66, but K.A. Ton has started to surge as well. Birdies at 14, 15, and 16 have tied him for the lead. In that group, Dave Yellope birdied 16, Woody Driver birdied 15. MacHaggis has had the wheels fall off, bogies at 14 and 15.

Signs of life from Mar Mel, a birdie at 15 pututs him at +4. Palmer's birdie came at 15 too. Kevin Heath doubled 14 and bogied 15. Whitt bogied 14 and 15.

Briefly, David Gonzalez did make two pars, sandwiched around a double at 16. AJ Tucker has bogied 16, birdie at 17.

Round finish is next.

Is the cut after round 2?

Why do I suck so bad this week? Is there something specific, or am I hungover from last night?

No, Marm, ur guy is actually pretty good. You just were able to bounce back from trouble last week. All the golfers are actually pretty similar, and all the courses play different.

There were a ton of skill checks today, rolls of 7, 9, and 11 draw skill checks. I used half my sheet. Plus lots of x chart shots too. Some rolls get an additional role, which is where you can get double or triple bogies or double eagles, which we had two today.

So after a quick lunch, some dry heaving in the parking lot, and some coaching, the FGT is ready to continue the second half of the double round.

Moving afternoon has finally arrived, and so far that movement has been backwards. Erick Dachel has removed the rust from his first 18 with a nice start, birdies at 2 and 4. Ty Whit dropped shots at 2 and 3, Angus MacHaggis has loosened up, sort of speak, and birdied 1, but missed his tee shot left on 2 and made double. Poor Shane Kormerlink, bogey on 1, then 2, then stubbed his drive well short on 3 and made 6 for a double.

David Gonzalez with birdies on 1 and 2 to put him on track to play Sunday. Jesse Ewiak birdied 1, then bogied 3, Sarah Juckett and Mar Mel doubled 3. Controversy on whether Mar stole Sarah's panties out of her locker, not sure what that's about, or if we really want too.

David Yellope is the only one in his group to oar the first two holes, the others dropped a shot already. Deacon Palmer birdied 1, AJ Tucker and Matt Jones bogied their opening hole.

Japanese...but funny enough, people who see me have always confused me for Samoan, Hawaiian, Aboriginal, Chinese, etc...Japanese is not the first thing that usually comes to mind!
