Cool FOFC World Series - Game 2

Game #2 of the FOFC World Series here at Chavez Ravine, where the upstart Hattrickers jumped out to a 1-0 lead by taking game one, 2-0. A little different look for both clubs’ lineups today, as two big lefthanders are going.

Katon leads off the game for the HTs...he wore the collar last game, going 0-for-4...he steps in against bsak16, a nasty lefty and that's not something Katon enjoys facing very often...here's the pitch...AND HE DRAGS A BUNT DOWN!!! Past the mound...coming in is the second baseman Maple Leafs...but all he can do is eat it...bunt single for Katon!

Katon takes an aggressive lead from first...he may run already...and there he goes! Here's the pitch, and the throw down by Bearcat...no chance, safe easily on the stolen base, and the Hattrickers have a runner in scoring position!

Awesome. Got 3 guys with shots to knock him in since he's a speed demon.

(CR, he's one of the three fastest in the game with Mr. Wednesday and Wolfpack- so even a lefty will have a hard time)

True, but he should still be throwing it over there.

That's implied in the game, CR. In APBA the pitcher's move (in this case a "1") as well as the catcher's arm rating are subtracted from the stealer's chance number.

Not sure if you are just yapping at your pitcher in-character, or if that was unclear in terms of how the game worked.

Targetpractice6 steps back in, now with the runner in scoring position and nobody out...the pitch, swung on, and here's a hot shot through the hole at short...charging in is Swaggs in left...HEEEERE comes Katon rounding third...

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Katon's got a great chance to score. SI, send him? CR, throw home if he does, or cut it? SI, if he throws home, you can send Target, but he'd be dead meat on the cut.

Katon scores without a throw, and TargetPractice6 remains at first with an RBI single...1-0 HTs...Ardent Enthusiast is up, looking to get the ball farther in play this game since he had a rough 0-for-4 last time...

bsak16 wipes the sweat off his brow, then pulls his cap down hard...stares in for the signal...here's the pitch, swung on and popped up by CW...MrBug gliding in on it in shallow center...no advancement for the runners if he catches it...and he does. One down. Masked up next.

Masked lines a single to right! Here comes TargetPractice6 around third...the throw by heybrad is up the line, but a nice recovery by Bearcat729 the catcher...and the runner is OUT at home!

Ardent motors into third...but Masked is trying to sneak into second! The return throw by Bearcat...GOT HIM! DOUBLE PLAY!

A great combination of plays by Bearcat729!

Wow. Only one run on FOUR hits, one left on. To the bottom of the 1st we go, 1-0 HTs.

~ ~ ~

FYI, that was a set result with no options. Sorry, SI.

Wow, it's about time we caught a break. And I actually reduced our reliance on defense for this game.

Go get us that run back, guys.

Tough break for our guys, but I guess I'd rather see us getting out being aggressive than weakly grounding out or striking out. Still, we got some awful dice rolls there and hopefully they won't kill us too badly.

Go get 'em, Blade!

Swaggs leads off for the Elitists against Hattricker lefty blade6119...he gets good wood on the ball but it's right at Masked out in right field...and he squeezes it for the first out

MrBug708 steps in...he was 0-for-3 and was hit by a pitch in Game #1...let's see how he does against the left-hander...he hits a routine chopper to third...JeeberD gathers it in, and makes the long throw across the diamond...two down...

kcchief19 will be the batter...1-for-4 in Game #1...he battles blade and then pops one up...foul territory, drifting back is TargetPractice6...heeeee's got it - NO! He dropped it! Foul ball, and an error for the HT catcher. Let's see if kcchief19 can capitalize...nope, garden-variety grounder to second, and YoSoySean throws him out, inning over.

Leading off the 2nd for the Hattrickers is JeeberD, but he goes down hacking quickly, strike 3 and one out...

YoSoySean steps in and hits an easy grounder to short, scooped by Shorty for another quick out, two away...

kingfc22 taps a can o' corn to left, which Swaggs puts away...after that rough 1st inning, bsak16 mows 'em down 1-2-3 in the second...

Bottom of the 2nd, and here's the power-hitting heybrad...he was 2-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts to go with his two singles in Game 1...here's the pitch...deep drive...he got good wood on that one...it has a chance! Masked and Katon are converging on the ball...but it falls in the gap in right-center...and heybrad eases into second with a leadoff double.

Schmidty's up with the RBI chance...he was 0-for-4 in Game 1...he hits a sharp come-backer right at blade6119, who snags it, looks back heybrad, and then goes to first for the easy out...one away

Bearcat729 is up...heybrad takes his lead off second as blade6119 delivers...he misses his mark, and the Elitist catcher takes the base on balls. Runners on 1st and 2nd, one out, with Shorty coming up.
