I'm sick of this game......

I am sick of this game taking over my life. So here's what happened. I went to my local Fry's Electronics here in Phoenix. On the game rack was Championship Manager 4 for just $5.00. I couldn't resist. I heard so much about this game and yet know nothing about soccer.

Well in just two days (over the weekend) I have logged 19 hours. That's unnatural. I shouldn't be spending over two work days on a game (especially soccer). I can't help it.

I took over this team called Scarsborough which is in the lowest division you can get in England and I am trying to get out of my monetary hole since it is difficult to make money.....argh......must resist talking about my digital life.....must see family and friends......must get away from this computer.......must delete that enticing icon on my desktop......my stereotype tells me I should only like basketball and football.....but I can't resist the world of soccer....can't resist.....help me!!!!!

Yes it is the Fry's Electronics off Thunderbird and I-17. Here's a good strategy for the wife. Pretend you want to go there to look at appliances. As you step into that section, pretend you have to go to the restroom. Use this opportunity to stroll by the games. When you come back from the supposed bathroom break, just mention how you just happened to see this game on the way there. Works about once every 3 months. Good luck.

Oh boy.

This is what my husband does: I'll leave to some other section and when I come back, there's already a game in the cart. He gives me this look and says, "If I get this game, you get $_ _ of clothes."

Hey, how can I resist?

This is a sad reply since Dodgerchick is my wife and yet she is referring to me as if she doesn't know me. Thanks hun.

You think that's bad. Last summer, my younger brother and I started a co-op game of CM4 while I was home from college (we basically were around the house alot doing handyman work for my parents). They went out of town for like 10 days and in that time we logged almost 6 full days of game time. I think I have a good idea of what withdrawl feels like after that.

There is no cure. Just accept your new life with the rest of us addicts.

I feel your pain Ant, I really do.

Luckily, with my recently derived 2-hard drive- setup, I can flip back & forth between work on one comp & CM 03/04 on the other comp pretty much all day long.

Work while the off days process, play when it's time to do something, seems to be working out pretty good for about a week now

That game is to good. I haven't even gotten into the last version. I loaded it and was going to wait because I didn't want it to eat my life. That fear has kept me from even playing it.

That is my last resort move when things are going in my favor. I happened to find this one on the way to the restroom.

Well I told her to go to the board if she had a question on anything.....that's anything because someone on this board has the answer to it. She could ever ask about the best tampons, hair products, etc. I told her this is where I get late breaking news, comedy, drama, computer tips, game advice, psychological help and various other things. She has been addicted ever since. She may not post a whole heck of a lot, but she sure does check it every day.

Baseline/I-10 did have it for $4.90. Now I have it, but I'm scared about loading it. I'm afraid that I'll never get my lesson plans finished.

I will never play this game because I am afraid of it. I have seen the low, low price for it at my local Fry's and I have heard about how engrossing it is.

Computer games are already too addicting to me. I don't think I would be able to play this game in reasonable, "recreational" amounts. I think one hit from CM4 and I would become a junky

[Warning!!!] If you attend school, have a job, family or bills to pay, do not play Championship Manager 4. Although it is sold at the local Fry's Electronics (for about $5.00), do not purchase the game. I repeat....do not purchase the game.

When it gets to the point when you are saying to yourself...
"Hmmm. I could get by with just 1.5 hours of sleep."
You are way beyond help.

Antmeister, feel free to check out my Tamworth dynasty. Lotsa good CM reading over there for us addicts. You can check out at work when you're away from the game, if you like.

so what you're saying is, remember the 60 hours sessions with civilization, civ 2, civ whatever. now, imagine twice that amount of time, while you pee into a milk jug and eat nothing but peanuts that sit in a big barrel next to your computer. i think i've got it now.

Despite having just recently purchased NCAA 2005 and NFL 2k5, I am still spending 90% of my game-playing time on CM 03/04.

Also, when I think about how much time I spent in college playing the CM series...*shudders*
