Madden 2005 Dynasty...

I'm going to start a dynasty with Madden 2005, and realistically I think NCAA and Madden will be my two big dynasty games with ESPN being used primarily for online leagues. I want to continue my ESPN dynasty, but won't be playing ESPN's franchise mode enough to keep it vibrant (maybe it would have weekly or biweekly updates at best.) I think the various player personalities and a variety of other factors will make a Madden Dynasty a more interesting read (and more fun for me to play.) So, I'm trying to decide between 3 major options:

1. Start my Madden Dynasty in 2005 and have it be a continuation of the same story. Obviously there will be some discrepencies as Westbrook is not as good in Madden as he is in ESPN, and my cornerbacks are better in Madden than they are in ESPN. Therefore, my draft philosophy might change. If I do this option, I will start my madden dynasty in the offseason of 2005 and have it be a continuation of the ESPN dynasty thread (although I will probably have a new thread for the new season)

2. Start a Madden Dynasty in 2004, but use the same storyline (team doctor promoted to GM) and same writing style (parallel time line.)

3. Start a Madden Dynasty in 2004, but use a different background story and different writing style. If I do this option, I'd likely continue the ESPN dynasty, but only have weekly or biweekly updates.

I'll also consider write-in suggestions.

I voted for the latter. I really don't want to see your ESPN dynasty stopped. In fact, until you have played Madden more, you might want to keep ESPN going. I'm finding more and more how much I like ESPN after playing Madden. The presentation is so far ahead of Madden and the gameplay in Madden isn't that much better than ESPN so far, imo.

Madden has improved considerably from 2004, but when I play Madden, I find out how good ESPN is. I hate just looking at other scores in Madden, with ESPN you get a weekly wrap up, which lets me see who's doing what. Both games are great this year, imo - and I'm actually enjoying NCAA, it's just #3 this year instead of #1.

I do like the gameplay better in ESPN by a slim margin. But on first blush at least, I love the franchise features in Madden. I'm not going to decide today as I just want to hone my Madden skills a bit today. I do like my ESPN dynasty and it has a different flair to it with the weekly presentation shows and such. So, I'm leaning slightly towards option 3 as well. No matter what, I'm going to play the NFC championship game (and hopefully Superbowl) on ESPN in the next day or two and see how the season ends

Excellent news!! Looking foward to reading it.

I need to play Madden more as well, but ESPN is really growing on me.
