Honda SUCKS ASS (Time For A Rant)

My 2003 Honda Civic has been messed up (mold smells coming from the AC, noises like speakers are loose in the back of the car) and I've brought it into the dealership numerous times to get it fixed and it just seems like it keeps getting worse. It got so bad that recently, after talking to a lawyer friend of mine, I opened a lawsuit against Honda Cars of America.

Well, after an arbitration, which I won, Honda wanted me to bring the car back to the dealership so they can look at it one more time, which my lawyer told me I should do. So, after spending all day at home so that they could attempt to fix the problem which they have tried to fix numerous times, I get a call that they won't work on my car!!

WHAT?!?! I SPENT A VACATION DAY WAITING AROUND FOR MY CAR ONLY TO FIND THAT THEY WON'T TOUCH IT?!?!

I'm incredibly pissed and will never EVER even go near a Honda dealership again.

That sucks. I have a 95 Civic w/ 90,000+ and all it's ever needed was the routine maintenance.

Honda scores exceptionally well in consumer reports. My guess is your problem is the exception, not the rule.

Yep, I'd say you're right.

My parents had a Ford LTD early nineties vintage, that had a peculiar habit of shutting down while driving down the road. You could be driving 70 miles per hour on the Freeway, and everything would turn off. My father took it to the dealer a number of times, they indicated they had even called Ford "HQ", and hadn't ever heard of anything like this. He spent hundreds of dollars having the Ford dealership swap things out. He even took it to a specialist in automotive electrical problems. All with no results. Well about a year after he sold the car for considerably less than it was worth, because he explained to the buyer exactly what the trouble was, Ford came out with a recall notice. There was apparently a transistor that sometimes rested against the manifold or something else that gets very hot. When the transistor gets hot, it "resets". The deal is Ford actually knew about it the whole damn time, but did nothing.

Well I am actually sorry to have typed all of that, and not have anything really worthwhile else to post. I'd delete it, but really this has taken up two minutes of my life.

Fix
Or
Repair
Daily

A friend of mine bought a brand new Ford truck in the late 80s. Had it two weeks and on New Years' Eve (like 11:00) the damn thing just shut down. He barely got it to the side of the road without getting hit by other traffic. Had to have it towed, etc. Turns out there was some problem with the engine, but Ford wouldn't even pay the towing bill on a two week old truck. It also took them about a week to fix it and they wouldn't give him a rental car either. I resolved at that point to never, ever buy one. And I haven't.

So what did you get out of the arbitration case you won?

I love my Honda, sounds more like you just need to go to a different dealership for good service.

I'll bet he didn't do near as well as a left handed pitcher would have.
