When Bush was Governor of Texas, he and his wife allowed the twins to host parties with alcohol at the Governor's Mansion. Later I'm told that their alcohol problems, particularly Jenna's, are no fault of his and we can't hold that against him. Ha. He was an alcoholic who showed no parental responsibility in allowing his daughters to drink in that fashion.

John Kerry's Fitness Report as a sailor was one of the worst fitreps most sailors I talked to have ever seen. Very rarely are sailors given anything below the highest possible rating on a fitrep, each score below Exceptional is considered a mark against the subject. Having 10 of 16 scores below exceptional was in fact a horrific fitrep. The verbal language in the reports is and was almost always laudatory. That fitrep pretty much ruined any chance of promotion for Kerry, which of course was followed by his request to change units to the swift boats.
