Thumbs down Lost my 30 year FOF dynasty

I'm a little pissed right now. The power went out during a FOF session. I just saved the game less than a minute before. I went to load the game and......... the file is corrupted, cannot load staff information. I've had this dynasty since I bought 2k4. I'm a little pissed. I made a back up of my universe a month ago, but I'm not sure I want to go back. It just wouldn't feel the same.

Time to start fresh maybe?

This happened to me once. I couldn't go back either. It just wasn't fun to re-write your own history. it was confusing. I say time to start over.

Sure wish I knew what to do with that one. Problem is, when you get a corrupted message, it means that the game knows it can't read the file because a section of the saved game isn't where it's supposed to be. That means that there's a lot of damage.

I've tried to mitigate that design-wise by rarely writing to disk during the game operation. But it sounds like the shutdown did some actual physical damage to the hard drive. You could try scandisk to try and see if there's anything to repair, or there are even some excellent file recovery tools out there (Handy Recovery saved me a lot of work one day when I accidentally overwrote a key file).
