OT: Countdown to the Advancement Exam
Well, folks, the E-6 exam is Thursday. I've studied my heart out this past month. I only wish I had known in April/May when the Bibliography came out that I was eligible. Assuming I don't make it, I'll be extremely prepared for the next exam.
Here's the bibliography for this exam: ET1 Occupational References NAVEDTRA 14087, ET, VOL 2, ADMINISTRATION NEETS MOD 5, INTRODUCTION TO GENERATORS AND MOTORS NEETS MOD 7, INTRODUCTION TO SOLID-STATE DEVICES AND POWER SUPPLIES NEETS MOD 12, MODULATION PRINCIPLES NEETS MOD 13, INTRODUCTION TO NUMBER SYSTEMS AND LOGIC CIRCUITS NEETS MOD 15, PRINCIPLES OF SYNCHROS, SERVOS AND GYROS NEETS MOD 16, INTRODUCTION TO TEST EQUIPMENT NEETS MOD 17, RADIO- FREQUENCY COMMUNICATIONS PRINCIPLES NEETS MOD 21, TEST METHODS AND PRACTICES OPNAVINST 4790.4, SHIPS' MAINTENANCE MATERIAL MANAGEMENT (3-M) MANUAL S0400-AD-URM-010/TUM, TAG-OUT USERS MANUAL Professional Military Knowledge References JOINT PUB 3-07.2, JOINT TACTICS, TECHNIQUES, AND PROCEDURES FOR ANTITERRORISM, CHAP II GO TO: http://www.dtic.mil/doctrine/jel/new_pubs/jp3_07_2.pdf NAVEDTRA 14325, BASIC MILITARY REQUIREMENTS, CHAP 14 AND 21 (first aid is chapter 14; leadership and supervision is chapter 21) NAVEDTRA 14504, MILITARY REQUIREMENTS FOR PO 3 & 2, CHAP 1 (leadership, supervision, and training) NAVEDTRA 14145, MILITARY REQUIREMENTS FOR PO1, CHAP 2 AND 4 (leadership, administrative, and professional responsibilities) NAVMED P-5010, MANUAL OF PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE, CHAP 3, SEC IV GO TO: http://www.vnh.org/ (heat stress) NTTP 3-07.2.1, NAVY TACTICS, TECHNIQUES, AND PROCEDURES FOR ANTITERRORISM/FORCE PROTECTION, CHAP 1, 2, AND 3 GO TO: https://dodpse.spawar.navy.mil/ NWP 3-07.2, NAVY DOCTRINE FOR ANTITERRORISM/FORCE PROTECTION, CHAP 2 AND 3 GO TO: https://dodpse.spawar.navy.mil/ OPNAVINST 1420.1, ENLISTED TO OFFICER COMMISSIONING PROGRAMS APPLICATION ADMINISTRATIVE MANUAL, CHAP 5, 6, AND 7 OPNAVINST 1752.1, SEXUAL ASSAULT VICTIM INTERVENTION (SAVI) PROGRAM OPNAVINST 5100.25, NAVY RECREATION, ATHLETICS AND HOME SAFETY PROGRAM OPNAVINST 5350.4, DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OPNAVINST 5370.2, NAVY FRATERNIZATION POLICY OPNAVINST 6110.1, PHYSICAL READINESS PROGRAM SECNAVINST 5100.13, NAVY AND MARINE CORPS TOBACCO POLICY SECNAVINST 5300.26, DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY (DON) POLICY ON SEXUAL HARASSMENT SECNAVINST 5300.30, MANAGEMENT OF HUMAN IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS-1 (HIV-1) INFECTION IN THE NAVY AND MARINE CORPS SECNAVINST 5350.16, EQUAL OPPORTUNITY (EO) WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY ---------------------------------------- The occupational references have assignment sheets attached (with the exception of the last two), and I have completed them. In the professional military references, only the NAVEDTRAS have assignments. Those are completed as well. My test will be 200 questions, all multiple choice, and there is no penalty for wrong answers. 115 of the questions will be of the occupational field. The other 85 will be of professional military. Scoring is kind of odd. The highest possible grade on the test is an 80. It's bell curved, and 50 is the median. The last rating exam I took was in March 2001, and I scored a 69 (which means I did better than 80% of the people taking that exam). I totally don't feel like I'm ready for the exam. I wish I had known months earlier. I think I'm going to relax a bit over the next couple of days on my studying and take it easy. Wish me luck. AE Last edited by Poli : 08-29-2004 at 09:50 PM. |
