Laura Branigan passes away
EAST QUOGUE, New York (AP) -- Laura Branigan, a Grammy-nominated pop singer best known for her 1982 platinum hit "Gloria," has died. She was 47.
Branigan died Thursday at home in her sleep, said her manager, John Bowers. He would not disclose the cause, although her official Web site listed it as a brain aneurysm. "Gloria," a signature song from her debut album "Branigan," stayed atop the pop charts for 36 weeks and earned her a Grammy nomination for best female pop vocalist, the first of four nominations in her career. I'll have that song stuck in my head all day.. sad to hear.

I know the name, remember she was a one hit wonder in the 80s but can't remember the song even after seeing the "Title"

I think the video for Control was one of the first things that ever made me feel "special".

Yes, it is. I'm sorry that she passed away, too.

C'mon, at least choose someone who wasn't dead already. The clear choice here was U2.

He's dead...plus, he left the public scene a full 10 years before Laura Branigan became a one-hit wonder, so either way, that one was a stretch.
