Interested in playing in the WigFL?

Due to time constraints, I will be resigning my ownership of the New Orleans Saints in the WigFL.
If anyone is interested in taking over, please let me know. The WigFL is just an awesome league. Sims are 3 times a week on MWF, but for an involved owner, it's very rewarding.

The Saints are stocked with draft picks, in VERY good cap shape, and should be picking high next year thanks to my pitiful ownership. I plan on playing out the season, but if you want to take over now, let me know and I'll see what we can do.

That sucks you have to leave, Sachmo.

I can vouch for it being an excellent league, tho.

bump...

The Saints are now 1-11, despite my best efforts. 1st pick is a guarantee. Draft a stud QB, and a couple of linebackers, and this team is in the hunt!!!!!!

I think it's still open and we're in the playoffs right now.

There are probably more teams available than the Saints. We are finishing the 2006 season.

But none with a better draft pick!

I've never even tried multiplayer FOF. I was thinking of starting a Texas Football League based on my single player league. Will having all of my FOF files modified for the Texas based league cause issues if I join a multiplayer league such as the wigFL instead (because I'm not sure I could find enough owners for a Texas League)?

Huck - it's pretty easy to set up a couple of batch files to switch between your two leagues. You just have to create two sets of folders, one for your MP league, and one for your solo league, then double click on the appropriate batch file. It will switch the folders around (re-name them) and start FOF for you just by double-clicking on the batch file. Here's my batch file for the IHOF -

if exist leagues_hfl\nul goto end
ren leagues leagues_hfl
ren Pictures Pictures_hfl
ren universe universe_hfl
ren leagues_ihof leagues
ren Pictures_ihof Pictures
ren universe_ihof universe
goto end
:end
start frfoot2004.exe

To have multiple leagues, just make a copy of each of the folders - 'Pictures,' 'universe,' and 'leagues.' Then sub in the names of those folders you renamed in above batch file, and it should work fine. Make a copy of the batch file, and change the names around (ihof for hfl in my case), and that batch file will set up your other league. Hopefully that's not too convoluted...

Well, until about 30 seconds ago I didn't think I was a computer idiot.

I will look at it this evening and see if I can figure it out.

I never understand why your team sucks so bad. You drafted some real studs too.

Okay, it wasn't difficult at all once I looked at it and figured out what it was doing. I guess I'm set to join the wigFL if you'll have me. I figure the 'Aints will be a good team to take over because I will suck for a while and they have a good strong history of sucking.

Unless, of course, there are 31 other guys out there that want in on a multiplayer Texas Football League.

  1. Fill up a bucket with some water and a cap-full of bleach.
  2. Submerge the zip file in the bleach water and hold under for approximately 15 seconds.
Congratulations, your zip file has been dewigatized. Now delete it and run away.

I was fooled by Aaron Brooks. Trying to make it with a 52 rated QB isn't gonna cut it. Plus, I suck at gameplanning, I guess.

This team has a lot of cap room, and some definate building blocks.

1. Open FOF2k4
2. Click on the MP Window
3. Under Participant Functions, click Enter New Career
4. For the League ID number, enter 'wigflxxx'
5. Choose your team
6. Click Begin without draft
7. Download the league file
8. Unzip it your leagues folder in the FOF2k4 folder
9. Load FOF2k4
10. Open the MP Window
11. Click Load Game
12. Select "wigflxxx"

From there you may want to renegotiate players etc. We are currently about to sim the conference finals on Friday evening, so the season is almost over, so if you are going to do it, do it soon. Then once you make any changes, under the multi player controls hit "export stage file" it will give you the name of a file, which will be in your fof directory under exports to attach in an email to wignasty at [email protected]

That should be it.

Any questions, just post in this thread or in the wigfl forum!

Good luck!

I remember that Brooks was really good until he got hurt that first season. That just shredded him.

I responded in the WigFL forums about taking over the Saints. Now waiting for a reply from the commissioner. My e-mail address is [email protected].
