A Fool and his Money Redux - A Real-Life Poker Dynasty

A while ago, I chronicled my first steps into real money limit poker games. I had some success with it, but as I began to play more and began to multi-table it became too much of a problem to chronicle every single hand as it happened and not lose focus. Eventually, I gave up the dynasty.

Since that time, I moved between .5/1, 1/2, 2/4, SNGs, and MTTs with varying results. I'd move up the food chain once I thought that I had gained enough of a bankroll, but I never built it up enough to deal with the swings and the mistakes I would make in the transition. I was always a positive player, but barely. I was more worried about my lack of focus and lack of goals.

I recently read Small Stakes Hold'em, and it gave me the inspiration to regain that focus. My current goal is to play 10,000 hands at .5/1 to build up my morale, my abilities, and my bankroll. Once I complete the 10,000 hands, I will examine where I am, and determine if I have the mental and financial backing to adequately move up in class. Lather, rinse, repeat.

One of the things that I am doing to continually refine my play is to pore over my hand histories. What this dynasty will contain is several interesting hands from my play in which I describe and defend my actions at the table. Feel free to make comments, ask questions, and give critiques. Hopefully this can be as enlightening for you as it hopefully will be for me.

Before starting this dynasty, here are my current standings towards this goal started last week:

Overall Stats:
Hands played: 903
Time played: 5 hr, 55 min
BB won: 170.5
BB/hand: .19
BB/hr: 28.82

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Kc, Tc.
UTG calls, 2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls, UTG calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

About as weak of a hand that I'll raise with preflop, and only in late position.

Flop: (10.50 SB) Qs, Jh, 9h (5 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

Bingo! With the high cards and the heart draw out there, I'm bound to have customers. I bet to pad the pot.

Turn: (7.25 BB) Ad (4 players)
BB checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, BB calls, MP1 folds, MP2 calls.

That removes the miniscule possibility of AK beating my hand if a ten falls. Still betting for value.

River: (10.25 BB) 5s (3 players)
BB checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, BB folds, MP2 calls.

Draws have missed, and I'm getting ready to rake the pot.

Final Pot: 12.25 BB
Main Pot: 12.25 BB, between Hero and MP2. > Pot won by Hero (12.25 BB).

Results in white below:
MP2 shows Qh 4d (one pair, queens).
Hero shows Kc Tc (straight, ace high).
Outcome: Hero wins 12.25 BB.

And it's as simple as that. I love seeing players play hands like that from middle position.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Qc, Qs.
3 folds, MP2 calls, 1 fold, Button calls, Hero raises, 1 fold, MP2 calls, Button calls.

I dont like anybody seeing the flop for cheap when I've got a good hand in the blinds. I used to just complete here, but I've got to make people pay when I've got obviously the best hand pre-flop.

Flop: (7 SB) 2s, Kd, 4s (3 players)
Hero bets, MP2 folds, Button calls.

The king's a slight cause for concern, but I still think that I've got the best hand here. I bet, and get it heads-up.

Turn: (4.50 BB) Td (2 players)
Hero bets, Button raises, Hero calls.

This is an interesting raise. It could be a player just waking up with a king, but I doubt it. Probably something like a pair and a flush draw, things like T9 of spades or 54 of diamonds. I hope Button is a player who would raise pre-flop with pocket tens.

River: (8.50 BB) 3h (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls.

If my read is correct, then I should have the best hand here. Still, I think it's pretty shaky, and I don't think I'm confident enought to raise here. I go into check-and-call mode.

Final Pot: 10.50 BB
Main Pot: 10.50 BB, between Button and Hero. > Pot won by Hero (10.50 BB).

Results in white below:
Button shows 5s 5c (one pair, fives).
Hero shows Qc Qs (one pair, queens).
Outcome: Hero wins 10.50 BB.

Well, that's a pleasant surprise. I never would have guessed him to have that hand. He was either bluffing or crazy. At this level, it could be either.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Ac, Td.
UTG calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB 3-bets, UTG calls, Hero calls.

I like raising preflop from the button with any good two cards, but I'm not thrilled when BB reraises me. I've got to call it, though.

Flop: (9.50 SB) 5s, As, 7s (3 players)
BB bets, UTG calls, Hero calls.

Oka, folding is obviously wrong here, as the chances I've got to draw and the chances I've got to be ahead right now are better than 8.6%. I thought about raising here, but what would that accomplish? I can't protect my hand or clean up my outs, it would just be another drop in the bucket to call. If BB 3-bets it could push out UTG, but I probbly can't beat a hand that could three-bet. Since I don't think I have better than 33% equity in this pot, I'm content to call.

Turn: (6.25 BB) 4c (3 players)
BB bets, UTG calls, Hero calls.

Pot's too big to get away from here. I have to call it down.

River: (9.25 BB) 4d (3 players)
BB bets, UTG calls, Hero calls.

Still have to call. If UTG raised, I could get away, but I'm still winning this one 9% of the time.

Final Pot: 12.25 BB
Main Pot: 12.25 BB, between UTG, Hero and BB. > Pot won by BB (12.25 BB).

Results in white below:
BB shows Js 9s (flush, ace high).
UTG shows Ah Ts (two pair, aces and fours).
Hero shows Ac Td (two pair, aces and fours).
Outcome: BB wins 12.25 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (4 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Ac, As.
UTG calls, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG calls, SB calls.

You've gotta raise in the big blind with Aces, right?

Flop: (6 SB) 4h, Ad, 8h (3 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, UTG folds, SB calls.

Yeah, that's nice, SB. Guess what? I've got a set. Seriously, I could play for the overcall here and try to drag UTG along for the ride, but I'd rather punish SB, who seems to like his hand enough to hopefully call down to the river.

Turn: (5 BB) 7h (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

The flush makes, but SB doesn't seem too interested.

River: (7 BB) 4s (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, SB calls $0.87 (All-In).

Another four hits, I boat up, and SB perks up again. The only thing I'm could be losing to here is pocket fours. Hopefully SB isn't enough of a calling station to call a set on the flop after only one raise. This is my hand.

Final Pot: 10.87 BB
Main Pot: 10.74 BB, between SB and Hero. > Pot won by Hero (10.74 BB).
Pot 2: 0.12 BB, returned to Hero.

Results in white below:
SB shows 3d Ah (two pair, aces and fours).
Hero shows Ac As (full house, aces full of fours).
Outcome: Hero wins 10.86 BB.

And there you go.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (7 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 3s, 3c. UTG posts a blind of $0.50. MP2 posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG (poster) checks, MP1 calls, MP2 (poster) checks, CO calls, Button calls, Hero completes, BB checks,

Looks like I'm getting a ton of implied odds to call here.

Flop: (7 SB) Ah, 8d, Js (7 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, UTG calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls, Hero folds.

I know I'm not ahead, and while 13:1 are nice odds, I'll still need more to try to spike another 3.

Turn: (6.50 BB) 3d (6 players)
BB bets, UTG folds, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, CO folds, Button calls.

Damn.

River: (8.50 BB) Ad (2 players)
BB bets, Button calls.

Final Pot: 10.50 BB
Main Pot: 10.50 BB, between Button and BB. > Pot won by Button (10.50 BB).

Results in white below:
BB shows 5h Jc (two pair, aces and jacks).
Button shows Tc Jd (two pair, aces and jacks).
Outcome: Button wins 10.50 BB.

I made the correct decision on the flop, so I can't complain too much.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Ts, Tc. CO posts a blind of $0.50.
2 folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO (poster) checks, Button calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, CO calls, Button calls.

Raising tens from the blinds might raise a few eyebrows. I'm still going to win this hand more than my fair share, so I'm going to build the pot early.

Flop: (11.50 SB) 8d, Qs, 4s (5 players)
Hero bets, UTG+2 calls, MP1 calls, CO calls, Button calls.

Not a thrilling flop here. I have the ten of spades, so that help my hand quite a bit. I'm going to continue the aggression. Nobody wants to go away, and nobody wants to wrest the captaincy of the hand from me either.

Turn: (8.25 BB) 6h (5 players)
Hero checks, UTG+2 checks, MP1 checks, CO checks, Button checks.

Do I want to bet here? I don't think so, with so many callers from last time. I check and buy an unintentional free card.

River: (8.25 BB) 8c (5 players)
Hero bets, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, CO folds, Button folds.

Okay, where do I stand here? I bet here, but I'm not sure if a better line may be to check/call. I doubt I could fold here. So, I value bet a marginal hand, and get one caller.

Final Pot: 10.25 BB
Main Pot: 10.25 BB, between Hero and UTG+2. > Pot won by UTG+2 (10.25 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero shows Ts Tc (two pair, tens and eights).
UTG+2 shows Qc 7s (two pair, queens and eights).
Outcome: UTG+2 wins 10.25 BB.

Not terribly surprising, I suppose.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Kd, Ah.
1 fold, Hero raises, MP1 calls, 6 folds,

Not often you go to the flop heads-up at this level.

Flop: (5.50 SB) 7s, 8c, Qs (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 raises, Hero calls.

Keep showing the aggression, and get bitten. If I'm behind, I've got the odds to draw out. Even so, I've got to call here to "keep up appearances", so to speak.

Turn: (4.75 BB) Tc (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 checks.

Interesting. Did he just want a free card? Is he on a spade draw or OESD?

River: (4.75 BB) Ts (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets, Hero folds.

If he's drawing to a flush, he's made it, and it's possible he just spiked a set if he has T9 or somesuch. The only thing I can beat here is a bluff, and I'm not going to win 18% of the time here. I've got to fold.
Final Pot: 5.75 BB
Main Pot: 4.75 BB, won by MP1.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to MP1.

Results in white below:
MP1 doesn't show.
Outcome: MP1 wins 5.75 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9c, Jc. CO posts a blind of $0.50.
3 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO (poster) checks, 1 fold, Hero completes, BB raises, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Hero calls.

Both the completion and the call of BB's raise should be automatic.

Flop: (10 SB) Js, 7h, Jd (5 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO folds.

Woohoo. Now that's a flop. I as a rule don't normally checkraise, but it might not have been a bad idea here. With the pfr on my left, I could feisably soak the field for two bets here. Still, the pot's too big, and I'd rather do the betting myself. If BB raises, I could three-bet it when it comes back to me.

Turn: (7 BB) Kc (4 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

Still dragging my customers along for the ride.

River: (11 BB) 8h (4 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, MP2 folds, MP3 calls.

T9 gutshots just made. Other than that, I'm golden.

Final Pot: 13 BB
Main Pot: 13 BB, between Hero and MP3. > Pot won by Hero (13 BB).

Results in white below:
MP3 shows Tc Kh (two pair, kings and jacks).
Hero shows 9c Jc (three of a kind, jacks).
Outcome: Hero wins 13 BB.

Don't ask me why MP3 called the flop bet with that.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Ac, Qs.
Hero raises, 1 fold, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls,

AQo is about the weakest hand I'll raise with UTG.

Flop: (10 SB) 3h, Tc, Kd (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB folds.

I've got 6-7 outs here (depends upon the cleanliness of my Ace outs), so I'm going to stay in no matter what. I bet to keep up the aggression and clean up my outs (though I doubt that you would fold A3 here if you were willing to call two cold with it preflop)

Turn: (7 BB) As (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, CO folds, Button calls, SB calls.

Bam! Hope it's clean, as I'm stuck with the hand now. Since nobody seems thrilled yet, I've got to believe that I've got the best hand.

River: (10 BB) 4c (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, SB folds.

Blank falls. Everything looks fine now.

Final Pot: 12 BB
Main Pot: 12 BB, between Hero and Button. > Pot won by Hero (12 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero shows Ac Qs (one pair, aces).
Button shows Kh 6h (one pair, kings).
Outcome: Hero wins 12 BB.

I outdrew the button that time.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Js, Td. MP2 posts a blind of $0.50.
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 (poster) checks, Hero calls, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks,

Don't worry. I'm not raising JTo.

Flop: (7 SB) 6d, 9d, 8c (7 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, BB folds, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls.

I've got a bet and two callers here. A seven would be lucrative here, as I punish people with both fives and tens. The sevens and the queens I count at seven outs (discounting for the 7d/Qd which could give a flush). A ten would be nearly worthless, but a jack could give me top pair enough times to count at 1.5 outs. So I have 8.5 outs, which meands that I'm getting the pot equity necessary to raise the bet here (think nine out flush draw, which needs two callers to raise for value).

Turn: (8.50 BB) 5s (5 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, Hero checks.

The raise on the flop also buys me a free card here when I miss.

River: (8.50 BB) 6h (5 players)
SB bets, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds, Hero folds.

Oh well. I've got nothing so I can fold with a clear conscience.

Final Pot: 10.50 BB
Main Pot: 10.50 BB, between SB and UTG+1. > Pot won by UTG+1 (10.50 BB).

Results in white below:
UTG+1 shows 7h 3h (straight, nine high).
SB shows 3d 9h (two pair, nines and sixes).
Outcome: UTG+1 wins 10.50 BB.

I guess UTG+1 was going to chekc raise the turn when he hit his hand.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with Kh, Ac.
2 folds, Hero raises, 5 folds, SB calls, 1 fold,

Standard.

Flop: (5 SB) 2s, 6c, Jh (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

Should still be standard.

Turn: (3.50 BB) 7d (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB folds.

With one opponent who has shown no real strength over the hand, I'll still bet here, hoping to be best or push him out (as in this hand).

Final Pot: 4.50 BB
Main Pot: 3.50 BB, won by Hero.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to Hero.

Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins 4.50 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Td, As.
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls, 2 folds, Hero checks,

I'm not in good position after the flop, so I don't like raise here.

Flop: (6.50 SB) Js, 2s, Ah (6 players)
Hero bets, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, MP2 raises, CO folds, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls.

Interesting raise from MP2 here. Could be a flush draw, could be a better hand. Either way, I'm going to see the turn.

Turn: (7.25 BB) 5c (4 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 bets, MP1 folds, MP2 raises, Hero calls, UTG+1 3-bets, MP2 caps, Hero folds, UTG+1 calls.

I'm content to check/call here, but UTG+1 bets out instead. When MP2 raises again, I should get out, but for some reason I leak 2 BBs here. Thankfully I have the presence of mind to get out when it's capped.

River: (17.25 BB) 6s (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks.

Heh.

Final Pot: 17.25 BB
Main Pot: 17.25 BB, between UTG+1 and MP2. > Pot won by UTG+1 (17.25 BB).

Results in white below:
UTG+1 shows Ac Qd (one pair, aces).
MP2 shows 8s 8h (one pair, eights).
Outcome: UTG+1 wins 17.25 BB.

So, I was behind from the word "go". MP2 played the hand very oddly, and I would never have guessed him for that hand.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 5d, Ad.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls, 2 folds, CO calls, 1 fold, SB completes, BB raises, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls, CO calls, SB calls.

Axs is safe to play in MP for a bet, but I wouldn't play it in EP.

Flop: (10 SB) Jc, Ah, 9s (5 players)
SB checks, BB bets, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls, CO folds, SB calls.

With the pot the size it is, I'm obviously playing here. A raise would force Co and SB to call two cold for 7:1 odds, which isn't too beneficial for me. Plus the fact that I may be behind here anyway should be enough to dissuade me from raising. I just call.

Turn: (6.50 BB) 5s (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB calls, BB folds.

Another excellent card. After BB checks, I've got to bet here.

River: (8.50 BB) 2s (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

A simple and easy value bet.

Final Pot: 10.50 BB
Main Pot: 10.50 BB, between Hero and SB. > Pot won by Hero (10.50 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero shows 5d Ad (two pair, aces and fives).
SB shows 6d 6h (one pair, sixes).
Outcome: Hero wins 10.50 BB.

Good enough for me.

Stats for session:

Time spent: 46 min.
Hands played: 99
BB won: 20.37

Overall Stats:
Hands played: 1002
Time played: 6 hr, 41 min.
BB won: 190.87
BB/hand: .19
BB/hr: 28.56

nice job, I'm reading, I love Bison's hand converter, and it looks like we've all learned a ton about poker since your first dynasty. Looking forward to seeing you clean up for your first 10K hands

Hey TredWel. Good to see you back at the tables. I'll throw my two cents in here.

Quote:
Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed)

I dont like anybody seeing the flop for cheap when I've got a good hand in the blinds. I used to just complete here, but I've got to make people pay when I've got obviously the best hand pre-flop.

Agreed. You have the best hand here but are vulnerable to overcards. Better to raise than to disguise the strength of your hand.

UTG calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB 3-bets, UTG calls, Hero calls.

I like raising preflop from the button with any good two cards, but I'm not thrilled when BB reraises me. I've got to call it, though.

Six handed I think this raise make a lot of sense but I think it's a bit questionable with a full table.

Quote:
Preflop: Hero is BB with Ac, As.
UTG calls, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero raises, UTG calls, SB calls.

You've gotta raise in the big blind with Aces, right?

Maybe this was just a rhetorical question but yes you have to raise with aces.

Quote:
Flop: (6 SB) 4h, Ad, 8h (3 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, UTG folds, SB calls.

Yeah, that's nice, SB. Guess what? I've got a set. Seriously, I could play for the overcall here and try to drag UTG along for the ride, but I'd rather punish SB, who seems to like his hand enough to hopefully call down to the river.

Again you have to raise here. No point in trying to drag along UTG with the possible flush out there.

Raising tens from the blinds might raise a few eyebrows. I'm still going to win this hand more than my fair share, so I'm going to build the pot early.

I like raising here. To quote Vegas Vic from another thread:

Unfortunately, you can't look forward to getting a free card on the flop because you will be in early position to act.

This makes a lot of sense to me as if you turn your set you are lining youself up for a big payday. There were 5 limpers to you so I think you were definitely right to raise here. There was already over 5 BB in the pot before the flop. If you flop your set not only are you in great shape but the size of the pot will entice your opponents to chase increasing the pot size further.

AQo is about the weakest hand I'll raise with UTG.

In 9/10 handed yes AQo is a pretty weak raising hand but again here the table is short. With just five other opponents AQo should be a pretty much automatic raise no matter what Doyle thinks of this hand

Quite a nice win rate. Are you putting your hands into pokertracker? I assume you are just making sure. Good luck.

It's been quite a while since that first dynasty. Someday when I'm bored I'm going to find it in the archives and count the number of mistakes I made.

Thanks for reading, and good luck with your dynasty. I've been reading that for a long time.

The win rate is unexpectedly high. I'm attributing it to the small sample size (only 1,000 hands) more than any great skill of mine. I'm expecting it to dip a little bit as I continue to play.

As for pokertracker, I've been unable to get it to work on my computer. I been emailing their support back and forth for a while, but I just can't get the databases to work correctly. In the meantime, I'm shoving all the stats I can create into an Excel spreadsheet.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Qh, 4c.
UTG calls, 2 folds, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks,

My first hand of the night.

Flop: (6 SB) 4h, Qs, 8s (6 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG folds, MP2 folds, CO calls, Button calls, SB folds.

And it's a doozy. Spade draw's the worst thing I have to look out for, and my hand should be well hidden.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 9c (3 players)
Hero bets, CO calls, Button folds.

River: (6.50 BB) 2c (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

Final Pot: 8.50 BB
Main Pot: 8.50 BB, between CO and Hero. > Pot won by Hero (8.50 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero shows Qh 4c (two pair, queens and fours).
CO shows 9s Ts (one pair, nines).
Outcome: Hero wins 8.50 BB.

CO had a very scary hand. I was only a slight favorite on the flop. Two pair without a pair on the board is one of my least favorite hands. Once you hit, you can't give it up unless the board or the betting becomes really scary.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Kd, Qh.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, 1 fold, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls.

Raising with KGo in the small blind. Padding the pot with what may be the best hand.

Flop: (10 SB) 3d, Ks, 8s (5 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, UTG+1 folds, MP2 folds, CO raises, Hero 3-bets, CO calls.

I like the flop, and get raised by the cutoff. Interesting. I still think that I'm best (maybe facing a flush draw or a King with a weaker kicker), so I want to make him pay.

Turn: (8 BB) 2s (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

Still thinking that I have the best hand.

River: (10 BB) Ac (2 players)
Hero bets, CO calls.

A slight scare card, but I can't figure him for an Ace after the flop raise. A8? Doubtful. I still think I'm good here.

Final Pot: 12 BB
Main Pot: 12 BB, between CO and Hero. > Pot won by CO (12 BB).

Results in white below:
CO shows 8d 8c (three of a kind, eights).
Hero shows Kd Qh (one pair, kings).
Outcome: CO wins 12 BB.

At least I was right - he didn't have an Ace. Oh well. CO must be a very passive player to go into check/call after a flop reraise with a set.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with Ah, Ts.
2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 1 fold, Hero calls, Button calls, SB completes, BB checks,

I only like to raise ATo if I feel I can isolate a player. I didn't get that feeling at this table.

Flop: (6 SB) As, 4c, Jd (6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP1 checks, MP2 bets, Hero raises, Button folds, SB calls, BB folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls.

I think I've got the best hand here, so I raise it up.

Turn: (7 BB) Qd (4 players)
SB checks, MP1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, SB calls, MP1 folds, MP2 calls.

An interesting card, giving QJ two pair and also providing the threat of a diamond draw. Still, I'm playing as if my hand is best until I see otherwise.

River: (10 BB) 4d (3 players)
SB checks, MP2 checks, Hero checks.

A terrible card. Backoor diamond draws came in, anybody with a four now has trips, and my kicker has been counterfieted. The chance that I'm now playing for a fraction of the pot has grown. I check it down.

Final Pot: 10 BB
Main Pot: 10 BB, between MP2, Hero and SB. > Split: MP2 (3.33 BB), Hero (3.33 BB), SB (3.33 BB).

Results in white below:
SB shows 6h Ad (two pair, aces and fours).
MP2 shows 3h Ac (two pair, aces and fours).
Hero shows Ah Ts (two pair, aces and fours).
Outcome: MP2 wins 3.33 BB. Hero wins 3.33 BB. SB wins 3.33 BB.

Oof. Two willing customers counterfieted by that four. Drat.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Ah, Qh.
UTG calls, Hero raises, MP1 calls, 4 folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls.

AQs is a very nice hand, and I raise commensurate.

Flop: (10 SB) 7d, 8c, 9s (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, Hero folds, MP1 calls, SB calls, BB calls.

I'm getting 11:1 to call here, which means that I need about 3-4 outs to call considering the implied odds. I really don't see me getting them. I have the overcards, but no flush possibilities and a runner-runner straight draw. Are my overcards worth four outs by themselves? I don't think so, and I fold.

Turn: (7 BB) Qc (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, MP1 calls, SB calls, BB calls.

River: (11 BB) Jh (4 players)
SB bets, BB calls, UTG calls, MP1 folds.

Final Pot: 14 BB
Main Pot: 14 BB, between SB, BB and UTG. > Pot won by SB (14 BB).

Results in white below:
SB shows 5h Tc (straight, queen high).
BB shows 4s As (high card, ace).
UTG shows 7h 8s (two pair, eights and sevens).
Outcome: SB wins 14 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Ah, Jd.
Hero raises, 5 folds, CO calls, 1 fold, SB calls, BB calls,

AJo is a hand you want to be in with first, not second. I raise to limit the field.

Flop: (8 SB) Tc, Jc, 9s (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, CO folds, SB calls, BB folds.

Top pair with a scary board. Nobody seems to want to admit to anything, so I have to believe that I'm best here.

Turn: (5 BB) 5c (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

Flush draw makes, nobody cares.

River: (7 BB) 4s (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB folds.

I'll never know what SB was drawing at.

Final Pot: 8 BB
Main Pot: 7 BB, won by Hero.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to Hero.

Results in white below:
Hero shows Ah Jd (one pair, jacks).
Outcome: Hero wins 8 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Js, Ts.
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, 2 folds, Hero completes, BB checks,

Flop: (6 SB) Qh, 9c, 4d (6 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds.

A nice draw, an OESD to the nuts. I like to bet out my draws rather than check/call or check/raise with them. It thins the field here, so that maybe I can hit a J or T and win the pot as well.

Turn: (4 BB) 6d (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero calls.

Still waiting. UTG is going to make me pay for the privilege of seeing the river.

River: (6 BB) Ah (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero folds.

And a whiff.

Final Pot: 7 BB
Main Pot: 6 BB, won by UTG.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to UTG.

Results in white below:
UTG doesn't show.
Outcome: UTG wins 7 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9s, Js.
2 folds, CO calls, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks,

Flop: (4 SB) 4s, 8d, 8s (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds.

Once again, an excellent draw (flush draw, backdoor straight draw, two overcards), and I bet. Nobody else wants to dance, which is fine by me.

Final Pot: 2.50 BB
Main Pot: 2 BB, won by Hero.
Pot 2: 0.50 BB, returned to Hero.

Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins 2.50 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Kc, 7c.
UTG calls, 1 fold, CO calls, Hero calls, SB completes, BB checks,

Kxs is about the weakest hand I'll play voluntarily, and only on the button for one bet.

Flop: (5 SB) Kh, 3c, Td (5 players)
SB checks, BB bets, UTG calls, CO folds, Hero calls, SB folds.

7:1 on the call here. I may have the best hand, but it's doubtful. If I don't, I have 3 outs to pair my kicker, and 1.5 outs for the backdoor flush, and anywhere from 0-2 outs to pair the kings. Those enough to call to see the turn.

Turn: (4 BB) 2s (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, BB folds, UTG calls.

Hmm. This is an interesting development. Maybe I still do have the best hand. I bet, the flop bettor folds, and I'm left ith one opponent.

River: (6 BB) 9d (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

I'm now fairly sure I've got the best hand, and just betting for value.

Final Pot: 8 BB
Main Pot: 8 BB, between Hero and UTG. > Pot won by Hero (8 BB).

Results in white below:
UTG shows Ts Ah (one pair, tens).
Hero shows Kc 7c (one pair, kings).
Outcome: Hero wins 8 BB.

Ta da!

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP with Td, Ad.
UTG calls, Hero raises, 2 folds, SB calls, 1 fold, UTG calls.

I still get 50% of the table to call my raise. Hope my hand's good enough.

Flop: (7 SB) 7s, Qs, 6c (3 players)
SB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets, SB calls, UTG folds.

This is a terrible flop for me, but I still have a reputation to maintain. I bet to force out one player.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 3h (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Okay, I'm content to check this hand down.

River: (4.50 BB) 6s (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 4.50 BB
Main Pot: 4.50 BB, between Hero and SB. > Pot won by Hero (4.50 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero shows Td Ad (one pair, sixes).
SB shows 9s 8h (one pair, sixes).
Outcome: Hero wins 4.50 BB.

And I'm best. Did not expect that.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Th, As.
UTG calls, 1 fold, CO calls, Hero calls, SB completes, BB checks,

Can't isolate too well here, so I just limp in.

Flop: (5 SB) Ah, 2c, 8h (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, CO checks, Hero bets, SB folds, BB calls, UTG folds, CO folds.

Nice hand.

Turn: (3.50 BB) Td (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, Hero calls.

And it just gets better. What dows BB have here? Pocket tens? There's no straight, no flush. Unless it's pocket tens or a slowplayed set, I'm good here. I should probably have capped it here.

River: (9.50 BB) Kc (2 players)
BB bets, Hero calls.

Instead I just call it down.

Final Pot: 11.50 BB
Main Pot: 11.50 BB, between Hero and BB. > Pot won by Hero (11.50 BB).

Results in white below:
BB shows 8c Ts (two pair, tens and eights).
Hero shows Th As (two pair, aces and tens).
Outcome: Hero wins 11.50 BB.

And what do you know? I was best.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Qc, 9c.
UTG calls, 2 folds, MP2 calls, CO calls, Button calls, SB completes, Hero checks,

Flop: (6 SB) Jc, 5h, 9h (6 players)
SB bets, Hero calls, UTG calls, MP2 calls, CO raises, Button calls, SB calls, Hero calls, UTG calls, MP2 calls.

When you consider my backdoor straight and flush draws, my overcard, and my small pair, the 7:1 bet is a clear call. I almost regret not raising here, until it's raised by the CO.

Turn: (9 BB) 3s (6 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG checks, MP2 checks, CO checks, Button bets, SB calls, Hero calls, UTG calls, MP2 folds, CO folds.

Does anybody have anything? My hand is probably not good here, but please, people.

River: (13 BB) 5d (4 players)
SB bets, Hero folds, UTG calls, Button calls.

When SB wakes up after sleeping on the turn, I've got a strong feeling I'm beat by a five. I probably should call because of the size of the pot, but I make a laydown.

Final Pot: 16 BB
Main Pot: 16 BB, between Button, SB and UTG. > Pot won by SB (16 BB).

Results in white below:
UTG shows Ks 3c (two pair, fives and threes).
Button shows Qd Js (two pair, jacks and fives).
SB shows 5c Kd (three of a kind, fives).
Outcome: SB wins 16 BB.

I was in worse position than I thought. The button had me dominated.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Ac, 8d.
1 fold, MP calls, 2 folds, Hero completes, BB checks,

I don't like playing weak offsuit hands in the small blind, but I might start experimenting with comleting with things like A9 or A8.

Flop: (3 SB) 9c, Kd, 4s (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, MP checks.

Turn: (1.50 BB) As (3 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, MP raises, Hero calls.

The free card gives me a hand, but it also gives MP a hand as well. Aces up? I have to call.

River: (5.50 BB) 9d (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets, Hero calls.

Still paying off. The board pairing shold help in the case of A4. I predict a split pot.

Final Pot: 7.50 BB
Main Pot: 7.50 BB, between Hero and MP. > Split: Hero (3.75 BB), MP (3.75 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero shows Ac 8d (two pair, aces and nines).
MP shows Ad 7d (two pair, aces and nines).
Outcome: Hero wins 3.75 BB. MP wins 3.75 BB.

Whaddya know! I was leading all the way.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (7 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 4s, 6s.
UTG calls, 2 folds, CO calls, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks,

Flop: (4 SB) 2s, 6c, 7c (4 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, CO folds, SB folds.

A lot of weak draws. I'll take the bull by the horns and bet. With four players, I may have the best hand now, but it probably won't end that way. I take it down to one other player.

Turn: (3 BB) 5c (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks.

River: (3 BB) Qs (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks.

And check down when scare cards come.

Final Pot: 3 BB
Main Pot: 3 BB, between Hero and UTG. > Pot won by Hero (3 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero shows 4s 6s (one pair, sixes).
UTG shows Jh Ac (high card, ace).
Outcome: Hero wins 3 BB.

I'll take it. Certainly didn't expect to win it.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 5h, 5d.
1 fold, Hero calls, CO calls, Button raises $1 (All-In), SB calls, BB calls, Hero calls, CO calls.

Small pocket pairs are always playable. The Button's raise all-in should be disregarded, I guess.

Flop: (10 SB) 7h, 4c, 4s (5 players, 1 all-in)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, CO calls, SB folds, BB calls.

A nice flop for me. Doubt anybody hit it. I'll bet, and only one person drops.

Turn: (6.50 BB) Qh (4 players, 1 all-in)
BB checks, Hero checks, CO checks.

Should I keep up the pressure here? I didn't think so at the time, and let the action go by me.

River: (6.50 BB) 9d (4 players, 1 all-in)
BB bets, Hero folds, CO folds.

And now BB bets. I don't think I can win the pot enough times to make this a good call, so I leave.

Final Pot: 7.50 BB
Main Pot: 5 BB, between Button and BB. > Pot won by BB (5 BB).
Pot 2: 1.50 BB, won by BB.
Pot 3: 1 BB, returned to BB.

Results in white below:
Button shows Ac 6h (one pair, fours).
BB shows 7s Ad (two pair, sevens and fours).
Outcome: BB wins 7.50 BB.

BB had me beat on the flop. Drat.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (5 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with As, Jd.
2 folds, Button calls, SB completes, Hero raises, Button calls, SB calls.

With only two other players in the hand, I look to simply blow them out of the water with a marginally strong hand.

Flop: (6 SB) 9h, 5d, 2h (3 players)
SB bets, Hero folds, Button calls.

And SB bets this ragged flop. If I'm behind, I certainly don't have the odds to suck out, especially with the heart draw out there. Despite raising preflop, I'm going to give this up here.

Turn: (4 BB) 2d (2 players)
SB bets, Button folds.

Final Pot: 5 BB
Main Pot: 4 BB, won by SB.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to SB.

Results in white below:
No showdown. SB wins 5 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 4h, 7d.
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, CO calls, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks,

Flop: (6 SB) 5c, 6d, 9d (6 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP2 raises, CO calls, SB folds, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls.

A nice draw for a free flop, picking up a nice OESD (I lose to a T7 if an 8 falls, but that's not too likely). I bet out, and MP2 raises. He might have the straight already, but I have to call here.

Turn: (7 BB) 8c (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls, CO folds.

Great. Rather than check to MP2, who would probably check as well if he doesn't have a 7, I'll bet out now.

River: (10 BB) 5d (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 bets, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls.

Oof. Terrible card. Board pairs and the flush comes in. I check it to MP2, who finds his voice again. I have to pay it off.

Final Pot: 13 BB
Main Pot: 13 BB, between MP2, Hero and UTG+1. > Pot won by MP2 (13 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero shows 4h 7d (straight, nine high).
UTG+1 shows 2c 7h (straight, nine high).
MP2 shows 6c 6h (full house, sixes full of fives).
Outcome: MP2 wins 13 BB.

Nice hand. Didn't give him credit for trips on the flop.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Qh, As.
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, 2 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls.

An easy raise.

Flop: (10.50 SB) Ac, 3h, Jc (5 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, BB folds, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls.

An even easier bet. Make people pay for their draws.

Turn: (7.25 BB) Tc (4 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls.

Not a great card, but I've got to keep plugging away. Thankfully, I'm not check-raised.

River: (11.25 BB) 6h (4 players)
UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, MP2 folds.

Everyone checks to me, and I make a simple river value bet.

Final Pot: 13.25 BB
Main Pot: 13.25 BB, between Hero and UTG. > Pot won by Hero (13.25 BB).

Results in white below:
UTG shows Kc Kd (one pair, kings).
Hero shows Qh As (one pair, aces).
Outcome: Hero wins 13.25 BB.

How badly did UTG play his hand? I count five places that I would have showed aggression.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with Ts, Th.
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, 1 fold, MP3 calls, 2 folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls.

Gotta raise with tens. Gotta.

Flop: (12 SB) 3c, 7h, 7d (6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, MP3 calls, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds.

Another nice flop for me. I like underpairs on the board.

Turn: (8.50 BB) 8c (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, Hero raises, MP3 calls, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls.

Still looks safe. UTG probably picked up a club draw with overcards or spiked an 8 or something.

River: (14.50 BB) Kh (3 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls, MP3 folds.

When UTG bets out again, I have to wonder if he's finally hit something. I'll just call.

Final Pot: 16.50 BB
Main Pot: 16.50 BB, between UTG and Hero. > Pot won by Hero (16.50 BB).

Results in white below:
UTG shows 3d 5c (two pair, sevens and threes).
Hero shows Ts Th (two pair, tens and sevens).
Outcome: Hero wins 16.50 BB.

Hmm. Interesting line. Good to know that I was in no real danger.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Kh, Jh.
Hero raises, 1 fold, MP1 calls, 3 folds, Button calls, 1 fold, BB calls,

It never ceases to amaze me how many people call two cold pre-flop. You should rarely, if ever call two cold. Fold, or raise.

Flop: (8.50 SB) 2h, Ks, Js (4 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, MP1 folds, Button calls, BB calls.

Woot! Two pair. Giving it a ride.

Turn: (5.75 BB) Qh (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, BB calls.

A bit of a danger card, with three broadway cards and two flush draws. Still, I make peope pay.

River: (8.75 BB) Ac (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, Button raises, BB folds, Hero calls.

Oooh. What are the chances that Button has a ten?

Final Pot: 12.75 BB
Main Pot: 12.75 BB, between Button and Hero. > Pot won by Button (12.75 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero shows Kh Jh (two pair, kings and jacks).
Button shows Ts Jd (straight, ace high).
Outcome: Button wins 12.75 BB.

Pretty good, I'd say. Tough card coming out, and I had to pay him off.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with As, Qd.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 3 folds, UTG+1 calls, MP2 folds.

A raise creating a heads-up match usually means a passive table. I'll keep an eye on that.

Flop: (6.50 SB) 9h, 9c, 9s (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 calls.

So, now what? When in doubt, and you raised preflop, bet out again on the flop.

Turn: (4.25 BB) 2d (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 folds.

With UTG+1 playing very passively, I think this is a battle of kickers, and one that I should win as well. I bet, and he goes away.

Final Pot: 5.25 BB
Main Pot: 4.25 BB, won by Hero.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to Hero.

Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins 5.25 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Js, Kc.
2 folds, UTG+2 calls, 5 folds, Hero completes, BB checks,

I possibly should raise here to try to isolate UTG+2.

Flop: (3 SB) 7h, Jd, 9h (3 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, UTG+2 calls.

Top pair with an excellent kicker, whiche I still have to bet, and get one caller.

Turn: (2.50 BB) Jh (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG+2 calls.

I used to play with the idea that if the flop came with a two flush and the third card hit, I must be behind, and began to play passively. This is a mistake. Especially after I improve my hand to trips.

River: (4.50 BB) Kd (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG+2 folds.

I fill up for good measure, and don't even get the chance to show the hand down.

Final Pot: 5.50 BB
Main Pot: 4.50 BB, won by Hero.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to Hero.

Results in white below:
Hero shows Js Kc (full house, jacks full of kings).
Outcome: Hero wins 5.50 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Jc, Kc.
6 folds, SB completes, Hero checks,

Another hand I should have raised. Heads-up and with position. When did I become a wimp?

Flop: (2 SB) 3c, Kd, 5d (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

I hit the flop, and bet out.

Turn: (2 BB) 5h (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero calls.

Interesting. The board pairss fives, and SB check-raises. Is he bluffing? I'm only getting 5:1 for my call, but I should still be good enough of the time to call down.

River: (6 BB) Ah (2 players)
SB bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 8 BB
Main Pot: 8 BB, between SB and Hero. > Pot won by SB (8 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero shows Jc Kc (two pair, kings and fives).
SB shows 5c Qh (three of a kind, fives).
Outcome: SB wins 8 BB.

Oh well. Not much I could do abot that - except raise preflop.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Kh, Qd.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, Hero raises, 1 fold, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: (12 SB) As, 6h, 9d (6 players)
SB bets, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 folds, Hero folds, Button calls.

A dreadful flop for me. When SB bets, it becomes worse. I'm gettig 15:1 here. My King and Queen outs are almopst worthless here. I'tl need to come runner-runner for me to improve to a place where I think I would be best. Even though I only need to scrounge up 3 outs to call on pot odds alone, I don't think I even have that. I hate to do it, but I fold in a big pot.

Turn: (8 BB) 7d (4 players)
SB bets, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, Button calls.

River: (11 BB) Qc (3 players)
SB bets, UTG+1 calls, Button folds.

Final Pot: 13 BB
Main Pot: 13 BB, between UTG+1 and SB. > Pot won by UTG+1 (13 BB).

Results in white below:
UTG+1 shows 8h Ah (one pair, aces).
SB shows 3h 3c (one pair, threes).
Outcome: UTG+1 wins 13 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 6h, 5h.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, Hero calls, Button calls, SB completes, BB checks,

Flop: (5 SB) 6s, 5s, 2h (5 players)
SB bets, BB folds, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises, Button folds, SB calls.

A great flop, and SB bets into me. I've got to raise, and only get called by the SB. I see him for a spade draw or a small pair rather than a 43, which I presume he would have 3-bet.

Turn: (4.50 BB) 6d (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, SB calls.

Even more interesting. I boat up, and he picks up and bets into me again. I have to raise again, and get called again.

River: (8.50 BB) 5d (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB folds.

The 5 is nice, but unnecessary. SB apparently realizes hes up against a monster and gets out.

Final Pot: 9.50 BB
Main Pot: 8.50 BB, won by Hero.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to Hero.

Results in white below:
Hero shows 6h 5h (full house, sixes full of fives).
Outcome: Hero wins 9.50 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 5d, 7d.
UTG calls, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, 4 folds, Hero calls, SB completes, BB raises, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls, Hero calls, SB calls.

An okay call in late position, I'd presume.

Flop: (10 SB) Ad, 2s, 7h (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets, SB folds, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls.

I've got a piece of the flop, and it's checked to me. I may very well have the best hand, so I bet here.

Turn: (7 BB) 7c (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero bets, BB folds, UTG calls, UTG+2 folds.

Getting better all the time. My spurious flop bet changes leads to a solid turn bet.

River: (9 BB) 9s (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG calls.

Padding the pot.

Final Pot: 11 BB
Main Pot: 11 BB, between UTG and Hero. > Pot won by Hero (11 BB).

Results in white below:
UTG shows 4c Ah (two pair, aces and sevens).
Hero shows 5d 7d (three of a kind, sevens).
Outcome: Hero wins 11 BB.

So, I outdraw UTG to win the hand. I was most likely always going to see the turn with this hand after this flop. It would have required a bet and raise before me on the flop for me to get out.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Js, Ah.
UTG calls, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, 5 folds, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls.

Raising with what I think is the best hand.

Flop: (8 SB) Qd, 6d, Ad (4 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 folds.

A fairly nice flop.

Turn: (5.50 BB) 6s (3 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, UTG calls.

Nobody flinches when the board pairs. I have the feeling that I'm now playing for the chop.

River: (8.50 BB) 6c (3 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, UTG folds.

Oh, even better.

Final Pot: 10.50 BB
Main Pot: 10.50 BB, between Hero and BB. > Pot won by Hero (10.50 BB).

Results in white below:
Hero shows Js Ah (full house, sixes full of aces).
BB shows Jd Th (three of a kind, sixes).
Outcome: Hero wins 10.50 BB.

Whoa. That was unexpected. The BB calls down just to play the board. You're my new best friend.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 7h, Th.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, 2 folds, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Hero calls, 1 fold, BB checks,

A semi-suited connector is okay to play on the button for one bet.

Flop: (5.50 SB) 7d, 5c, Js (5 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, MP3 checks, Hero bets, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 folds, MP3 folds.

Once again, its checked to me with middle pair. Once again, I bet out because I might just have the best hand.

Turn: (3.75 BB) 6h (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 folds.

Gutshots may have hit, but I don't doubt that I might still be best. One bet's all it takes to get this pot.

Final Pot: 4.75 BB
Main Pot: 3.75 BB, won by Hero.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to Hero.

Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins 4.75 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Qs, As.
1 fold, Hero raises, MP1 calls, 4 folds, SB calls, 1 fold,

We're three to the flop. Very passive tables tonight.

Flop: (7 SB) 2h, 3s, Qh (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls, SB calls.

Another strong flop for me. Let's see if Ihold up to two chasers.

Turn: (5 BB) Kc (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP1 folds, SB calls.

Not thrilled with the overcard, but I fear overcards on the last two streets a lot less than overcards on the flop.

River: (7 BB) Jc (2 players)
SB bets, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, Hero calls.

SB makes an odd play of betting out at me. What could he have? A slowplayed king? Rivered two pair? Why doesn't he check-raise me if he's hit a big hand. I smell a rat, and raise. When the 3-bet comes, I may have to think that I'm beat.

Final Pot: 13 BB
Main Pot: 13 BB, between SB and Hero. > Pot won by SB (13 BB).

Results in white below:
SB shows 9d Ts (straight, king high).
Hero shows Qs As (one pair, queens).
Outcome: SB wins 13 BB.

Wow. The things people will call with when the flop misses them. He needed runner-runner to beat me,a nd got it. Good for him.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Th, Tc.
UTG calls, 3 folds, Hero raises, 3 folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls.

Flop: (8 SB) Jc, 8c, 6h (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, Hero calls, SB calls, BB calls.

UTG betting out right before the pre-flop raiser is interesting. The flop is not great, but it could be worse. A raise may be called here to try and cut down on everybody else's odds, but I just call here.

Turn: (6 BB) Kc (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets, Hero folds, SB folds, BB folds.

When the second overcard and the flush draw comes in, I've seen enough. 7:1 odds are probably not good enough to call here.

Final Pot: 7 BB
Main Pot: 6 BB, won by UTG.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to UTG.

Results in white below:
No showdown. UTG wins 7 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Qh, 7c.
3 folds, MP2 calls, 2 folds, SB completes, Hero checks,

Flop: (3 SB) Td, Qd, 2h (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls, SB calls.

I'm still a little shaky on TPNK situations in the blind. With the small pot, I figure getting the first word in is most important, so I bet out, and everybody follows.

Turn: (3 BB) 4s (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls, SB calls.

River: (6 BB) 4c (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls, SB folds.

The board pairing is a fairly good occurance, as kickers will become counterfeited. I expect a chop.

Final Pot: 8 BB
Main Pot: 8 BB, between MP2 and Hero. > Split: MP2 (4 BB), Hero (4 BB).

Results in white below:
MP2 shows Qc 6h (two pair, queens and fours).
Hero shows Qh 7c (two pair, queens and fours).
Outcome: MP2 wins 4 BB. Hero wins 4 BB.

I get a chop, but it was my kicker that was counterfeited.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Kh, Jh.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

Flop: (10.50 SB) 7d, 9d, Jd (5 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP2 bets, MP3 folds, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls.

Yep. Top Pair, Great kicker, and a monochrome semi-connected board. MP2 bets, and I raise. My intent is to knock out the weak draws around us, hopefully buying me a few more clean cards in the deck.

Turn: (8.25 BB) 6c (3 players)
UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 folds, MP2 calls.

A blank. MP2 checks to me, and I bet to charge the draws. I'm feeling good that I have the best hand here.

River: (10.25 BB) 4c (2 players)
MP2 checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls.

Still looks good to me.

Final Pot: 12.25 BB
Main Pot: 12.25 BB, between MP2 and Hero. > Pot won by Hero (12.25 BB).

Results in white below:
MP2 shows Ad 7c (one pair, sevens).
Hero shows Kh Jh (one pair, jacks).
Outcome: Hero wins 12.25 BB.

MP2 had a good hand on the flop, and I probably would have played it the same way.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BB with Ac, As.
UTG calls, 1 fold, UTG+2 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, 4 folds, Hero raises, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) 3s, 7h, Kh (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG folds, UTG+2 calls, MP2 calls.

This flop's fine for me. Only one player falls, leaving me with two opponents.

Turn: (5.75 BB) Kd (3 players)
Hero bets, UTG+2 raises, MP2 folds, Hero folds.

Okay, probably the most controversial act of the night for me. I'm getting 8.75:1 to call UTG+2's raise here. I almost have to play him for trip Kings, and I can't call a bet here. If he doesn't have the King, good for him. "So I'm bluffed. So what?" Even if you count the chances when I'm ahead, I still don't think the overlay makes this a good call.

Final Pot: 8.75 BB
Main Pot: 7.75 BB, won by UTG+2.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to UTG+2.

Results in white below:
No showdown. UTG+2 wins 8.75 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Jh, Jc.
Hero raises, 5 folds, Button calls, 1 fold, BB calls,

Flop: (6.50 SB) Ad, Ks, 5d (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, BB folds.

Ooh, bad flop for me. Still, I hope that I can bully the few remaining people left in the hand.

Turn: (4.25 BB) 6s (2 players)
Hero bets, Button calls.

Down to heads-up, I keep the pressure up.

River: (6.25 BB) 4h (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero folds.

And then I let it go. I probably should either bet out here, or call the bet because of the pot size. I don't think check.folding is the best thing to do here.

Final Pot: 7.25 BB
Main Pot: 6.25 BB, won by Button.
Pot 2: 1 BB, returned to Button.

Results in white below:
Button doesn't show.
Outcome: Button wins 7.25 BB.

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Ac, Jd.
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, Hero raises, 4 folds, BB 3-bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls.

I'll raise with this hand, but I'm decidedly less than thrilled to se it 3-bet behind me. That usually means that I'm ominated.

Flop: (12.50 SB) 4s, Ts, 4h (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero checks.

Huge action preflop gives way to passivity on the flop. I could bet here, but nobody would go away getting 13:1 on their money.

Turn: (6.25 BB) 2h (4 players)
BB bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, Hero folds.

BB bets, and I still haven't got anything. Buh-bye.

River: (8.25 BB) Ad (2 players)
BB checks, UTG bets, BB calls.

Final Pot: 10.25 BB
Main Pot: 10.25 BB, between BB and UTG. > Pot won by BB (10.25 BB).

Results in white below:
BB shows Kc Ah (two pair, aces and fours).
UTG shows Qs As (two pair, aces and fours).
Outcome: BB wins 10.25 BB.

I was dominated twice over. You won't see that often. And what was BB check/calling the river for?

Overall Stats:
