YAY!!! He's gone!

When I opened the sports section of my local newspaper, I got a pleasant surprise. Skip Bayless, the most annoying sports writer on earth, a Cowboys fan who writes for a newspaper that covers the Niners, is leaving the paper to appear on the ESPN show "cold pizzia" every morning.

Oh ya, up yours Skip.

I guess his stellar appearances on PTI convinced him he was TV material.

That's being nice. How does he have a job in any field related to sports?

I've heard Skip fill in for Rome a few times. Cold Pizza sounds like a good place for him.

Yeah, a place where no one will see him is the best place for him.

Maybe he'll be the wacky stunt guy like they have on morning drive radio shows.

Agreed. I don't listen to Rome nearly as much as I used to but whenever he's a guest host (like a few others), I just have to turn it off.

SI

his PTI partner Steven A Smith, for one.

Smith also annoys me. PTI was unwatchable with them on it.

My sports page will now be Skip free! I nearly wept with joy when I saw his goodbye column today. Ah, damn....yet ANOTHER reason not to watch Cold Pizza. Wonder if I can also get e-mail alerts from ESPN telling me when he'll be on other things so I can avoid them, too?

My favorite Skip Bayless moment was when he vehemently argued to Rome and others at the start of the playoffs last year that Anthony Wright (on the basis of 3-4 games towards the end of the year), the street FA QB who finished the season for Baltimore was head and shoulders a better QB than Tom Brady. Enough said on his sports knowledge. Some people knock Brady, but Anthony Wright!! for *#$&'s sake!

Uh...he's not just joining Cold Pizza. Apparently he's been tapped to replace Ralph Wiley as a Page 2 columnist.

Yikes!

Well, in the tradition of Ralph Wiley, he'll be a Page 2 columnist that I regularly don't read.
