TCY--getting back in...

Alright...just ordered the College Gameday Package...getting really excited about football being back...

Now, I plan on watching 30+ games today while getting back into The College Years...

Fired it back up last night...got excited as I worked on recruting for my Eastern Michigan HURONS...and then I realized what bugged me before...the micromanaging of the player's time...ugh...

Do you guys let the computer handle this, or do you go through everyone and adjust the time?

I'm tempted to let the computer handle it, since the same logic that determines the time for computer teams would determine the time for my team...otherwise, I might get an unfair advantage by pumping up the study time, build up my academic reputation, and then dominate...

At least, that's what I remember from my previous experiences. Any thoughts? Go Wolverines!

Kevin

I usually let the "computer" do it the first season, then after that I will manually adjust incoming freshmen, and guys who have picked up girlfriends or lost them....

check out this thread about the time management option though...

Dola- BTW Skydog, if you read this, that Time Management thread might be a good one to have in the TCY section of the "all-inclusive" thread........

Thanks for the link Cringer...

I always thought it was odd that you could set individual settings for players...Does this say that at a big time school, one QB will be at all the film sessions, but a guy with a girlfriend will be allowed to miss some? Or skip a few workouts? Just doesn't seem to be linked to the real world...

Maybe if you could adjust for each position...because some spots do require more film work, while others need more workouts...but to have different numbers for guys within position groups just seems inconsistent with how college programs are run.

I could just see Chris Leak walking into Zook's office..."umm, coach, I know I need to study film and improve my reads, but, see, I've got a new girlfriend so I'm gonna have to miss a couple of QB meetings a week so I can keep her happy. You understand, right coach?" Don't think that'll fly!!!

Actually, I could maybe see that happen with Zook...but not with the previous coach...

The micromanaging of the hours is the one point of contention that keeps me from getting into TCY. Even with the helper, it's still somewhat annoying to have to set these things every single year.

I never thought it was that bad. It was a pain to adjust them all the first year, but after that, all I had to do was adjust for incoming freshmen (and for those who got gf's) and it didn't take much time at all (with the help of TCY Helper).

Exactly, the first time stinks, but after that the program shows you the ones that need changed... which is usually only the freshman.
