The Plan

---The part that explains why there is a "plan"---
FYI/Spread The Word!!

USA u20 GK Jonathan Dixon is on the transfer market. While I'd love to keep him and keep training him, my team is going into debt because of him. Please pass the word to any GK trainers you may know who can afford him.

He is currently Titanic +3 and played this week so he should receive training. Please HT-mail terpkristin for more info.

Thanks,
Kristin

---The part that explains "The Plan"---
This is the part that I don't know enough about.
If Dixon sells, my plan is to buy a new GK (around brilliant or magnificent) and 3 "higher level" PM trainees (no older than 20, formidable or better PM) and 3 "lower level" PM trainees (17 and solid PM if I can swing it).

My goal is to go back to an all-US squad. I hope that by buying some older trainees, I can improve my midfield for the moment and also develop some younger talent.

I NEED HELP THOUGH!
I know to look for stamina in my PM trainees...and either passing or defending, depending on how I want to play them.
How much should a formidable PM with inadequate passing OR defending set me back? Say solid or better stamina...

I appreciate any tips...I've been training GK for so long that I don't know what to expect from other training types anymore..

Geez TK. If I'd have known you were going to go this route, I'd have seriously thought about buying the little pud from you. As it is now, I've switched to winger training, and can't do a thing for him.

Good luck with the sale though. How is he bankrupting your team? Other than keeper training just isn't very profitable.

secondaries are overrated. Stay away from disasterous or wretched secondaries and the rest doesn't matter much.

He's expensive (14k of my wages are for him, and that will likely double next season).
I only have one sellable trainee because of him (and let's face it, my backup right now isn't very sellable either).
Can't afford to upgrade team because of general lack of fundage (had to upgrade coach which was expensive).
Team loses games.
We lose supporters.
People stop coming to games.
Rinse, repeat.
Oh, and my best middie (my coach) just got injured so that further cripples my team.

It's been a long time coming and though the announcement is fairly sudden, I've realized that to once again become a profitable team and to have any prayer in games (particularly with all the help the newbs get now, compared to when we first started) I need to step back and restructure.

It's sad to see him go; I wanted him to be my coach someday (solid leadership and he'll have great experience) but...c'est la vie, I suppose.

Hey Terp, I've got something you might want to think about.

If Dixon doesn't sell this go around, hang on to him, and change to scoring training. Sell the backup, and get 17 yr old passable headers, like 6 of them. Run a 3-4-3, and keep Dixon for the future. You may have trouble competing, but in 2 seasons, you will be a very strong team with a great defense thx to Dixon. Further, you can keep two of the scorers, sell the four, and and go get the middie trainnees you need.

Just my two cents, but if I could go back and let my gk, caron train for another full season, or even two, I would be in a much better position for the following season. While I got knocked out of IV last season, I have been able to win big in V and revamp training relatively quickly. If I could do it again though, I would've dropped down like I did, but continued to train Caron this season in V (an maybe next in V too) and then went after scorers.

My current plan is to get 2 of my trainnees up to 6-7-8 star level, sell the other 4 and start training something else. If I had an 8 star keeper for the next 10-12 seasons, and spent the next 2-3 getting my scorers up to the same, then spent the following 3-5 on defense, while spending money on the midfield, I could be a pretty darn good team

It's an idea, BlueMage...
I like it, honestly, but I'm not sure I can do it. Since he's part of the u20 team and I can't imagine Brx wants to drop/add players so close to WC Dix needs to keep training.
