OSU Comments
Since all college football threads have been posted today, let me just say that this was a scary game. I didn't get to watch it, only kept getting updates, but Zwick has the potential to finally be a very good QB at Ohio State. I have always like the Ross/Hall combo so they should hold up, and Santonio Holmes, 10 catches for 224 yards? That is impressive stuff.

Uh, Western Michigan is far from being a good MAC team.

OSU played ugly today, Zwick has a great arm but it was all over the place today. Marshall should not be able to play that close in Ohio State, the Buckeyes got lucky today.

Just from early observations it looks as if Purdue may be the class of the Big 10 this year.

I don't think you can say that they don't get the kick off anyway though. |

Marshall should have kicked the FG on the game-defining drive where they got nothing.
I'm glad we survived this one today...very scary (as OSU fans have come to expect). |

Hehe, I graduated in 2002
I'm still living in Fairborn, about 5 minutes from campus. I lived in Oak Hall for 3 years...ahhhh the memories. Hopefully you and 1,000 friends show up to support our basketball team this fall. Our team could be .500 again and next year we could make a run at the NCAA's. 2 free tickets with your student ID!!! I'll be there. PM me as we get closer to 11/10 (day of the exhibition game). GO RAIDERS!!! (King of threadjacks here )http://www.wsuraiders.com/mbasketball/schedule.html |

Hehehehe...maybe if Shorty's driving
![]() It's scary, cuz if it's like this year, then that game may have a huge effect on who wins the Horizon League. We were 10-4 and tied for first before we lost the last 2 games last year. Dropped to 5th I believe. Damn, last year was a tight one in our conference. |

Actually, the amazing thing is that they wouldn't have. What happened is that when the ref was setting the ball originally and backed away (the time the clock should have started), the Ohio State kicker was still doing his walk back from the ball, nice and slow. If the 2 tics would have started when they should have, he'd have had an incredibly quick back/forward start and I doubt he'd have made the kick that rushed. Instead, they not only didn't start the clock, they actually stopped the GAME and blew the whistle to confer. Marshall, realizing they had gotten screwed called a time out to freeze the kicker. Didn't work and you get an L. I think it's highly unlikely he'd have hit that kick if the game had finished the way it should have. Still, I have no doubt Ohio State would have pulled it off in OT. I just would have liked to see the game end the way it should have. |

I must have been watching a different game because I was pretty sure Marshall didn't call a timeout they had asked for an explanation on the ruling. Hence the whistle after the ball was spotted. |

Marshall had zero TO's left. A comment I made as they used their last one to reset their D as OSU was driving. I'm like "glad they won't have any left to ice Nugent."

If I remember correctly, when the announcers said Marshall was trying to call timeout it was when their coach was going on the field to talk to the refs about the call. Most likely he was asking why the clock had stopped, thus the ref explaining that the ruling was an incomplete pass. |
