This made my day...

My wife just called.

Her: "Guess who's walking?"

Me: "Who?" (as if I have more than one kid who's about ready to start walking)

Her: "Who do you think?"

Me: "Bubba's walking?!?" Ah-HA! So it was a rhetorical question. Right.

Her: "Yep. He just walked all the way across the living room and back."

He's been pushing a scooter around and hugging the furniture for about a month, but hasn't taken so much as a step without some support. It's as if suddenly a light bulb came on, and now he's walking all over the place.

Just had to share that...

Since he was pushing a scooter, it should have been Bubbawheels.

It'd be appropriate seeing that at this moment they both probably have the same IQ.

EDIT: After reading that, I'm trying to decide who I insulted more...

So who was it? The suspense is killing me... Was it Christopher Reeve?

No, I named my kid Franklin Noble Brown, Jr.

Bubba is just his nickname.

I have some older photos of him on my website. http://www.noblebrown.com/

I'll get some of him walking later this evening, if possible.

what Franklin didn't mention is that Bubba is 9.

it was a happy, happy day when I realized that Graham could do things like get the remote for me and stuff like that. I know it wont last, but DAMN am I enjoying it.

Franklin, that is great!!! Remind me how old is Bubba again?

At 8 months, Matthew is now learning to pull himself up in his crib. He also learned that falling down without looking where you're gonna fall can hurt when you hit the other side of the crib Good times, they grow up so fast...

He's 11 months old. Probably would have walked sooner, but he's a little big for his age... basically had trouble balancing himself, as he's in the 95% range for height and 75% range for weight.

Make sure your crib mattress is low enough so that he can't flip himself out of the crib now that he's standing. It didn't take long for Bubba to try that little maneuver once he was standing up (yes, I was there when it happened, and, no, I didn't actually LET him fall out of the crib).

Our 4 month old just cut her first tooth...and has been miserable since yesterday. We've had a solid 6 weeks of general happiness and sleeping from 8pm to 5:30am, so I can't complain.

Wow, he's a big kid!!!

Yeah, thanks for the reminder, but I had lowered the mattres two weeks ago, when we realized that he was able to almost pull himself up when grabbing the top of the siding. But now, with the mattress lowered, it was more difficult to pull himself up without the use of the top of the railing...

Grats on the tooth, and yeah, I'd assume she'd be miserable. Matthew's been teething a lot, but not cutting any teeth yet, at 8 months of age. He's drooling like you wouldn't believe it, and right now, fightin through an ear infection. Damn I hate ear infections!

Our first daughter was so big she didn't (couldn't) even crawl until 11 months, and didn't even roll over until 7 months. She was just so big she couldn't support her body with her arms and legs. In fact, she's still that way at 5 years old, 68 lbs., and 4'2". She's only 5, and exactly one foot shorter than my wife.
