Steven Davis out 2-5 Weeks

Was wondering why the CAR/KC game was pulled from the books....

Stephen Davis injures knee

Stephen Davis, RB CAR

News: According to the Charlotte Observer, Panthers running back Stephen Davis is out two to five weeks with a knee cartilage injury that he suffered on Thursday in practice.

Analysis: The Panthers play at Kansas City in Week 2. Deshaun Foster will start for the Panthers in place of Davis.

Westbrook probably snuck into practice and Nancy Kerrigan'd him.

Foster is actually pretty good, but the Panthers are still in big trouble.

Steven Davis reminds me of Correll Buckhalter.

Wow, I have Foster as my backup in my money league. If Foster plays well, Davis may never get the job back.

Let's see... I started Joey Galloway, Chris Brown and Stephen Davis in my Yahoo league last week - and lost by about 80 points. Is that cool or what? Anyone want to take any bets on whether I'll win a single matchup this season?

My starting lineup this week consists of Doug Gabriel AND Keary Colbert. At least I drafted them (we have 25-player rosters).

No, but I'll be happy to take some bets that those cats will have some seriously adjusted ratings in future FOF rosters.

Interesting, we have the same running backs. And I did win last week by about 20 points. I'm picking between Kevin Jones and Ron Dayne as the pinch-hit RB while Davis is down.

*sigh*

My backup to Davis is... Eddie George.

*double sigh*

Marshall Faulk better pick up the slack.

my RB's in a money league were Shawn Alexander, Faulk and Stephen Davis as my big backup (with Wheatley and Julius Jones are my other RB's). i don't want to risk starting Alexander (and i hope the Seahawks do the smart thing and leave him out of this week's game), and Davis is now out of the question.

so what does a fantasy GM do?

he traded Davis and Laverneus Coles for Fred Taylor last nite and saves his fantasy season.

bam

Coles was my main WR (but i was unimpressed with his performance last week). i have Rod Smith and a bunch of other guys on my bench i can call up. most notably Muhsin Muhammed, the Panthers' new #1 WR now that Steve Smith is out for the season. clutch.

Who passed on picking up Foster?

Foster 26 carries 166 yards with 11 minutes left.

Dammit, moved Dillon into the lineup in place of Griffin rather than Foster. Would have worked out OK except that McAllister got hurt or something. What in the hell happened to Deuce yesterday?

In one of my keeper league I have Galloway, Steve Smith and Stephen Davis... I am 1-0 already and heading to 2-0 provided MNF disaster.

It's ok, I left Thomas Jones and Deshaun Foster on the bench and started Quentin Griffin and Fred Taylor. Doh.

It's things like this that are the reason I'm enjoying my first NFL season in about 8 years without fantasy football. It's so nice to be able to just watch the games.
