oh boy, the servers are gonna all die...

newest announcement

Quote:
10/1/2004 Next season: Cup for 32,000 teams
We are making a major change to the cup in the upcoming season: The old upper limit of 8192 teams in the cup is removed. In all leagues with between 19,000 and 30,000 teams, the best 16,384 teams will now be allowed to play in the cup. In leagues with 35,000 or more teams, the best 32,768 teams will get to start in the cup. The change takes effect immediately. Read all the details about the expanded cup system.

I can't wait to see how the first Wednesday in the cup will go... *shudder*

on the further details page...

Since we cannot, for practical or technical reasons, play 16,000 matches at once, the matches during the first rounds of the largest cups will be played with a 15 minute delay per 4096 matches. (An example is given at the end of this page).

im pretty sure in years past, USA has always had 8192 participants in the cup i believe.

the only change for the USA would be how the semi finals and stuff are handled now.

I think this is a great change. Too many teams in other leagues were cut out of the cup. I don't mind a few slow days as it will probably still be better than it was when i first joined.
