Anybody See the New PS2?

It's lost some weight and I guess its supposed to run more smoothly. It comes out 8/13 anyone going to get it?

Not compatible with the HDD, no. Sony says that the likely HDD buyers, their "hardcore" audience, already has a PS2 model that supports it, so there's no reason for the PStwo to support it. Square-Enix isn't happy about this, and rumor has it that if FFXI (or some kind of FF MMORPG) has a console lifespan beyond this generation, it may not be in the PlayStation family.

Oh, additionally, the PS2 multitap is incompatible with the PStwo, meaning that any 3-4 player games developed to this point will be two-player only on the PStwo (as it's likely any multitap replacement would use the USB ports, and therefore be incompatible with previously-developed games).

Cute, huh? But hey, it's tiny now, and can probably go portable the way the PSone could.
