Full moon yesterday???

If you think the blow-up here yesterday was bad, you ain't seen nothing. Apparently all hell broke loose in the OOTP Off-Topic section. There are 20-25 threads that appear to be related to the blow-up, and apparently several others were deleted, at least two long-time positive contributors banned, and at least two others who said they were leaving for good--at that's just what I've gleaned looking at it for 10 minutes. I'm not even going to begin to try to sort through it all, but wow.

Man, I don't even know where to begin. I'm not exaggerating. I think there are 20+ threads related to it. Get your popcorn, go to OOTP off-topic, and enjoy! There's a closed thread on about page 2 or 3 that MAY have started it all, but I'm guessing there's just too much to even begin to sort through.

The blow up there was attributed to the blow up here?

No, not at all. They're completely unrelated.

This thread seems to sum up what happened.

Sounds odd. Never been there before. All I can say is that I am glad we don't have avatars. They are really annoying.

Oh, nothing that big. Just druez getting banned and two respected developers getting into a fairly heated public back-and-forth argument. Just a day in the life of the text sim world...

Erm...wow. There are people in OOTP - Off Topic that really need to calm down and just go have a beer or something.

Well, I'm guessing that it is more about the guy who did it, than what he did. He's a rather, um, interesting personality...

There are definitely people over there with waaaaaaaaaaay too much time on their hands. I'm having to grit my teeth anytime that I read a post from 'Skipaway'.

For example: 'Henry you are trying too hard to "construction of universal systemic solutions. to be applied to reality from the outside", to explain. While it's much more important to "get to the heart of reality through personal experience", to understand.'

Drink beer, watch sports, laugh with friends. And then you will be happy.

That initial post would have been infinitely funnier if the guy had replaced all of the "so and so says" with "and so and so was like..." There would have been a million "likes," and I could have had one of our receptionists read it out loud like a ditzy high school chick. Good times. *sigh*

its a long story- suffice to say the moderators there being "henry" and "kuffrey" are pretty ... incompetent at their jobs. Henry is a good guy, but a little too thin skinned to be a moderator, and Kuffrey.. well - that's another story.

Henry and Kuffrey sounds like a morning drive show.

Agreed. And wasn't there some movie about these two going to White Castle?

It allows you all of the self-righteousness of taking up a cause without any of the exertion required to actually do so.

I just saw a letter from an attorney with the Indiana firm of Dale & Eke. And that's all it says right above the signature line - Dale & Eke.

My first thought was that I need to tune these guys in for the morning drive.
