Football Manager 2005--Anyone yet???

Ordered my copy of Football Manager from gameplay a few weeks ago. With the release of the game pushed up, I was wondering if anyone here in the States had received their copy yet.

I'm really excited about this year's edition and I hope it will absorb me the way CM 01/02 did...which was by far the most addictive game I've ever played.

All I've got to go by right now is this message and hope...

You currently have 0 orders waiting to be dispatched. We have sent you 1 items since you opened this account. The last item we sent to you was Football Manager 2005 - PC & MAC on 02/11/2004.

Mine was shipped on 11/03 with an expected arrival of 1-4 weeks. Man I'm hoping it's closer to 1 than 4.

Well, I bought it weeks ago from GamePlay, and it cost 8.50 UK Pounds for expedited shipping. Hopefully that means it will come in this weekend. There is so going to be a "Here we go Boyz" thread for it when I get it

Oh, btw, SackAttack gave me some interesting information, for those of you waiting for a US release.

On the latest upcoming release list he looked at, "World Soccer Manager" by Sega Europe has a release date of 11/30, and I remember that Sega was going to loan SI the WSM name for a US release

I'm glad to see they are going to be selling the game over here...just to increase the number of American players...

My confirmation email also said the wait would be 1 to 4 weeks...I already came home from work yesterday like a kid expecting Christmas...I hope this doesn't drag on for weeks, cause I'm not sure I can handle 4 weeks of dissapointment.

I am enjoying the demo at least, but it's hard to invest all the time necessary to do well when I know the game will stop after 6 months...better than nothing though.

Kevin, see the "FM information" thread for comments from other FM enthusiasts, myself included. I'm in the same boat as you. Ordered it on Tuesday, they say they shipped on Wednesday and the game is 1 to 4 weeks from getting to me. Like others, I darn hope it's closer to 1 than to 4 weeks, especially since that was my birthday gift and I'd like to play it ASAP

In the meantime, I'm getting acquainted with the interface with the demo. At least when I'll restart, I'll be used to the interface and the feel of the game

Just got home from work hoping it might possibly, maybe, by some act of God, be waiting for me. But nothing, and yeah, kind of hating you. Not like kill you hate, but look in your profile and sign your email address up for massive porn spamming hate.

It has been in stores in Scotland for a few days, so you should find it easily in London.

Shaun,

That is how I got my copy. A coworker flew in from London yesterday, and they had a copy at the Duty Free shop. That is how I beat the shipping delay.

Suure...this sounds like one of those stories that starts "Well, um I..I mean a coworker, flew to London to get the game...err I mean happened to be flying to London. And I...the coworker, picked it up for me."
