USA Div 5 IM ques..?

Okay, some of you have said that my passable PM IM's won't cut it in Div V. (1) So, I ask you what stats do my IM's need to have to compete in Div V? (Solid/solid...stam/pm)
(2) I still have $150k in the positive, so I wondering if I could make any kind of stand in Div V if I send it all on 2-3 IM's?

Note: I am in V.13 (Dark Angelss) and currently makeing money every 2 weeks, but it is only about 10-15k.

Thank you all, and if you need to see my team it is in the "How's my team shaping up" thread.

Thank,
thenereus

My guess is that unless you have formidables at mid your gonna have trouble winning your series. My startings mids are Outstanding - Brilliant - Magnificent and I won't be winning my series this seasons.

well some of it has to do with how strong your series is. But if mckerney has out -bril-mag for his midfield at division V and cant win his series without a breeze whats gonna happen when he goes to div IV. he can only make such big improvements to ur midfield as it is already without spending a couple millions. I was thinking that a formidable and 2 outstandings cud hold u up in Div IV but i guess it all depends on how strong it is.

I've got World Class - Brilliant - Brilliant midfielders, and my midfield is probably no better than 7th in my series (IV.3). I do happen to be in one of the better IV series', but it's still a little frustrating

As for V -- it really depends upon your series, thenerus. Let me go take a look...

Ok -- it looks like you have yourself a pretty competitive V series. Seems as though you took over your team sometime between last sunday and now -- so you're probably going to have a very tough time trying to compete against Jayhawks and StreetRacers. Some of the other teams, like S.P. Dayton, have some exceptional ratings on the field (Dayton's defense would probably be one of the best in my series!), but not much in the way of midfield. If you can get yourself some Excellent forwards, you should be able to hang. However, with only $150k, you're looking at spending nearly all of it in one place, and only for one player. I don't think that's such a good idea. I'd set up a solid training program, and worry about improving the team dramatically once you've sold a couple of trainees.

For now, just focus on hanging up in V. You should be able to beat Tantric Tadpoles, and with some luck you could have a match with Black Jaguars and wild roziks. Good luck man!

Just my opinions (and I happen to be frequently different than most) . . .

What you need will depend on what your serie-mates have and what you are doing. In my opinion, what you need has more to do with your serie than your division. To me, your first aim should be to be competitive with the 3rd and 4th best teams in the serie and at least be able to take a point from them each game (this, obviously, predicate on your taking care of the bottom teams). That will give you time to let your training system and roster mature and not be dropped.

Keep an eye on the top 4 teams in your serie. Track their ratings across multiple games, road and home, midfield AND offenses/defenses. That will give you an idea of what you will need to compete there. Improve toward being able to take care of them while always keeping your own training system in mind.

Two things I want to bring up, though. One, when next you upgrade your coach, pay extra and get the solid coach. Even if you have to go with the lower leadership one. And in the meanwhile, keep an eye on coach trainees (solid+ experience and inadequate+ leadership). Two, always try to make sure that your midfielders have excellent stamina. You are sacrificing quite a bit of performance and probably about 1/2 star between solid and excellent stamina in an inner midfielder.

Good luck. And, remember, Hattrick is a marathon and not a sprint.

i have brilliant-brilliant-formidable ..

i started this season with out-out-formidable and am the class of my series in midfield. I also sport the best two forwards, but my defense still lacks a bit, but that's on the docket after the next set of trainees.

i'm in v.181, btw.

There are at the very least 3 magnificent IM's in my V series. My whole team is almost nothing but solids, have nothing over that except my two keepers. That will change next season though...but not by a whole lot.

Lordy. I dominated V with I think form/excellent/excellent midfielders, a solid/passable forward duo, and like...passables elsewhere.

'Course, now I pull a 217 rating this week, the 22nd best rating in all of IV, and I still lose. Go figure.

I had outstanding/outstanding/experienced solid when I promoted after season 22, and that wasn't the best midfield in my (somewhat above average) series -- I was lucky to get out of there.

Edit: Blackout's in my old series now, so he can tell you how (or whether) it's gotten better. He replaces the aforementioned team that had a better midfield, the team that I beat in a qually was a hair worse then me when I went up.

there is 1 tea mwith a better midfield, but its a midfield heavy team and I beat them once... The #3 team also has a good midfield.

so, to have a crummy midfield in V.84 would mean you couldnt finish top 3, however, the 4 spot would very much be up for grabs... no one else really has anything. you can definately stay up with all solids.
