You have to go to www.maximum-football.com and then check out the forums.

Its nice to see that this game is FINALLY done, but I think it may be too little too late. Too many advances in sports gaming have come and gone since this one went on the drawing board.

As I understand it, you can age every player at the end of the season, have random retirements and draft from a pool. Don't know how well that plays, though.

As if no career or online wasn't bad enough....

Why all this Canadian stuff?

My name is Dave, and I am Canadian!

Canadian issues with the game will be handled first. This includes patches and bug fixes. If a change is required to make the game more playable as US rules but would change the way it is played under Canadian rules, the change might not be made. Any corrections needed to be made to make the game correct under Canadian rules may effect the US play. That being said, the majority of rules differences are user definable anyway. The only areas where this may come into effect are with the game clock and perhaps the special team areas of the game.

I'll say this, he's not gonna find an even more niche market... PC football is small, but PC canadian football.....

Well, Dave, I'm a consumer and I have the money. And you're not getting it!

This product is the perfect example of a developer trying to develop based on his own hard-on. "I've got a great idea, how about a football game that does what none of the other football games does, customized rules!"

How can something like this make a football game as good or better than others on the market if the game doesn't have tons of other features that every other game has? No basic career modes and online play options? You can't add a cup of depth that other games don't have and take three cups out and think you have a comparitable product.

I see this product going in the toilet pretty quickly. I think this was a guy who started with good intensions, but judging by how long its taken him to get the product out at this stage (very early stage, about 3 years to final), I don't see him being able to adapt with all the bugs that will be quickly discovered in any first generation game.

How much is this gonna be? Looks cool, and i would buy simply to help out the future possiblity of a more featured game. But if this is 50, thats pretty steep for no career mode, especially since madden is now 29.99

Seems like a good game but I feel its the wrong execution of the right idea. Also been interested in this since circa. late 01 early 02.

It would kick ass if along with the game log/play by play, Jim could incorporate a 3-D match engine like that for FOF. That would kick ass and make it the best of all time. Ah, dare to dream.

I love the idea of a Canadian Football game. It is something different and you should exploit the niche that I think would be all yours. Hell, you should of gone even further and set up a World Football League based on Canadian rules.

Hwey SteveW, don't forget that is canadian money were talking about?

The game definately has potential. Career mode is the next project for him and he will try to add 1st generation career mode next. But the whole game has bug-city written all over it. It's a daunting task and I wish him the best of luck. I like the graphics, (football pro, woot!) but I could never go back to football pro AI, and there's no way this guy makes a first gen product even up to football pro standards....so he's got his work cut out for him.

Also, it's being distributed by Matrix Games. They are a HUGE middle-man reseller. Some of their titles go for as much as $79 dollars (40 dollars to the producers and 40 dollars to the developer). The guy says he won't sell it for $30USD, but I don't believe Matrix will let that figure stick.

Interesting, I didn't know that's how Matrix worked. I just know that I've been to their site and about fainted when I saw the cost of some of their offerings.

I don't know if the 50/50 things is right, that's just a guess. But they do have some hefty prices for direct download games.
