Yeah, it's not fair?! Since when did personal responsibility stand for anything!?

You know, I just might start caring again about the NBA after this incident.

Those will likely be reduced once the dust settles. There's no way the NBAPA will stand idly by.

Built your team around 2 players? Hell every GM since the vintage Jordan/Pippen days has been trying to do just that.

The Pistons get rewarded for a situation that occured because of them. Muck Fichigan, way to go Ohio State.

I am a huge Pacers fan and I can't really blame the decision. I just hope some fans get punished as well

So is there any healthy players left on the Pacer's roster?

No depth? Have you not watched the Pacers these last few years? Look what Freddie Jones did last night. He scored 31 points, and he isn't usually a starter. Croshere, not usually a starter. Also what team was it that beat the living shit out of the Pistons at their OWN HOUSE? Oh yeah, the Pacers.

David Stern will be on ESPN news in less than 5 minutes to officially announce the penalties.

Is the little Pacer fan sad because his players can not control their tempers? Awww.

This doesn't make any sense. This isn't worse than what Spree did and he got 68 games. The NBA is completely ignoring its previous precedent due to public opinion, and that's wrong. Rodman only got 9 games for headbutting a ref. Maxwell got 10 for going into the stands and hitting a fan.

I am in complete agreement with the suspensions on the Pacers side, and think Ben should've gotten about 15.

I still think Stern is probably the greatest commish in any sports history and he made another outstanding decision tonight.

They were gonna choke anyway. Now you get your anger out early in the season instead getting your hopes up.

You owe Benny Wallace a thank you.

FWIW, this little incident has resulted in me watching the NBA more than I have at any time in the last 10 years.

If they guaranteed these kinds of brawls, I might be a season ticket holder.

Public opinion is what makes leagues such as the NBA, NFL, MLB, etc. work. Ignoring it would be insane.

I think Stern is trying to make an example of the players involved, though thats not to say they didn't deserve.

Stern doesn't want the behavior tolerated in any way

I highly doubt that the NBA suspended those players in an effort to reward the Pistons. You are really letting your emotions get th ebetter of you....hey, just like idols!

And why the fuck did Ben Wallace get 6 games?!? That's absolutely ridiculous, regardless of what followed Ben's actions, which happen to some player just about every year, should have gotten 3 games MAX based on previous precedent.

I just don't see how you give one guy 10 games and then turn around and suspend a guy for the season for doing the same thing.

Dear NBA, Our esteemed user INDalltheway has expressed that you fuck off. He will be no longer watching you because you dished out justice in the Detroit fracas. Just thought you should know that there will be a reduction of approx. $2 to your total merchandise revenue this season.

Nope, native Texan here, and lifelong Western Conference/Mavericks fan.

And also someone who thought that the actions of those involved warranted the suspensions given. Anyone who thought this wasn't a horrible reflection on the state of the game are only fooling themselves, and not facing the reality of the situation, and one of the main charges of the commisioner is to preserve and enhance the state of the game.
