Back to the Super Bowl: Rams (5.1)
Prior to the 2004 season, Rams president John Shaw made a bold move and told Mike Martz in a closed meeting he would either have to go back to being an offensive coordinator or pack his bags.
According to the Post-Dispatch, Martz stood up, threw his Rams hat at John Shaw, then turned around and walked out. The media was in a frenzy as were the fans. Preseason was approaching and nobody knew what was going on in the Rams front office. Out of nowhere a staff was announced, except for the General Manager. "Gentlemen, meet your new boss", said president John Shaw at a Saturday morning press conference. "Hello, my name is Todd and my job is getting us back to the Super Bowl... and winning." With that, the young man stepped off the podium and walked out of the room. Sports media from every TV and radio station just sat there with nothing to say. Even the new Rams coaching staff had blank looks over their faces. "Thank you for coming", said John Shaw... and the questions came at him like a finale at a fourth of July fireworks show. |

**Trade**
I have no decent fullbacks, so I shop 3rd string RB Arlen Harris (37/46) to see who's interested. Cleveland is first on the list at 100% and I offer them Harris and a 2005 7th round draft pick for 5 year player FB Terrelle Smith (53/57). Trade accepted and instantly Harris will battle William Green for the starting nod in Cleveland. Smith is easily our #1 starter and should help to keep Bulger from getting sacked so much with this offensive line. *It'll take some time for me to sort this team roster out and figure out where we're at prior to the preseason. I'm not getting too cocky, my defense is VERY suspect and injuries could really hurt this team. Thanks for the vote of confidence. ![]() Yes, I watch every game. It gives me a better way to see my team perform and make QB changes if needed. Plus it's easier for me than reading a game log. Todd |

good luck love reading your dynasty ..you coach is great on calling offense and defense..so that should help alot
one thing i wish when watching and reading play by play logs, would be cool if they mention the player postion and name when calling the play...but i notice they just say the name... Last edited by jbmagic : 11-26-2004 at 01:13 AM. |

GM's thoughts: Remember when I said I thought our defense looked good in the preseason? We gave up 431 total yards, for an average of 6.9 yards per play, ouch!! Now I'm VERY concerned about this defense, mainly our CB's. Heck, we had 2 int's and still gave up a ton of passing yardage. Postgame Roster Moves: CB Keith Dixon is cut CB Eric Warfield is signed, moved to RCB and will backup Jerametrius Butler Last edited by MizzouRah : 11-26-2004 at 04:30 PM. |

GM's thoughts: Hats off to the defense, 7 sacks to Michael Vick? Quite impressive to say the least. Atlanta has a good defense and we just couldn't get it going today. Penalties really hurt us as did 2 interceptions. The Saints come to down next week riding high at 2-0 with wins vs Seattle and San Francisco, should be a good one. |

GM's thoughts: Against Arizona we had 0 sacks, the last two weeks we've had 7 in each game and now lead the league with 14 total. Aaron Brooks was pressured all day long and although we were outgained once again in total yardage, a key punt block for a TD and a late TD pass to Torry Holt sealed the victory for us. It hasn't been text book play, but we're 3-0 as we head to San Francisco. |
