Did I miss something? Was Roald Dahl a huge pot smoker or an hippie kool-aid freak? All the movies based on his books keep coming out like this. I'll admit there was plenty of fantasy in his books, but there was plenty of fantasy in Tolkien's books and Peter Jackson didn't go out and make the LOTR a bad acid trip.

I'll give the movie a shot because I like the book, I like Tim Burton (James and the Giant Peach somewhat aside) and I like Johnny Depp, but I just wish someone would make a movie based on one of Dahl's books that doesn't make me sick.

Wrong, that is so wrong. Not the movie itself but having Depp acting like Michael Jackson in a Three Stooges high school skit.

That clip reminds me of why I don't like Tim Burton movies.

My question is: what does this remake have over the original version?

No Oompa Loompas in sight. That is a good thing by my standards.

This looks absolutely horrible. Johnny Depp looks like he is having the kids over to share a glass of Jesus Juice.

Maybe they are distancing themselves from the original film a bit by using the book title instead? An interesting question.

I just hope they don't paint the Oompa Loompas orange again. Was that actually in the book? Them being orange? I can't remember...it's been years since I read it.

It could be a cross-over from "Fear and loathing in Las Vegas".

Johnny Depp does look very odd with that wig on... There is some Michael Jacksonesque thing going on there. Not good.

Frankly, I thought the idea to re-do this as a Tim Burton movie with Johnny Depp was inspired. The original is a classic, of course, but this will be excellent.

There is an oompa loompa in the trailer, I just hope that isn't them singing throughout the trailer. Those voices are annoying. I was really excited to see this movie, but now not so much. I'll still see it, but it looks almost identical to the first one. I was hoping for something a little darker. Who knows though, it's a short clip.
