Anyone know what this game is all about? Looks similar to FM 2005.

I'm pretty sure its EA's take on SMG's. Its been around for a few years, and some people swear by it. I think it has 3D, FIFA matches and some other stuff, and teams can be swapped from FIFA to TCM. I've been thinking of trying it, but the main draw for me for an SMG is having the MLS in it, and TCM hasn't. I don't think the database is as large as FM for what its worth.

I had an older version of this which seemed to be fairly deep at that time though I didn't spend much time playing it.

I've never played it, but supposely if you want 3d graphics it's up your alley (duh from the picture above) but if you want depth and realism it's still FM. That's based on previous versions - haven't heard anything about the latest.

The 3D match engine is the same as FIFA 2005.

Didn't try the last version but I have 2004, this game is more an arcade smg than anything else. Some funny things in it but you quickly get bored.

Dola - do a search here to find reports on previous versions.

Try this link for one:

what Moraity said. the sim engine is supposed to be week, and the management aspects are awful. plus, all the engine flaws in FIFA are exacerbated in TCM>

It has tons and tons of features to play as GM, from setting ticket prices to dealing with sponsors etc etc, awesome interface (i mean pretty), 3D engine, etc etc etc...but it's all in the surface, the engine is so weak (try to use the text mode and you will see), the db is not half acurate as the FM one, the players ignore the tactics in the 3D game, etc. As any other EA game, lots of primisses and good ideas bad programmed. There has been a few patches i think since the release so mybe it's better now than when i tried it. If you want a comparation (and i hope nobody will feel offended) it's like comparing TPF and FOF where one game is so pretty and promisses a lot and the other looks ugly but the engine under the interface makes it the best one.

I've read some reviews and just like Icy said, it's pretty... but there is a patch out and most reviews are favorable.

I'm not quite sure how this game compares to FM, but you can download the demo and try it yourself. I tried the demo a few years ago (I think it was the first version they released) and it wasn't good. Here's a link to the demo:

I tried the demo, but couldn't get through a game without crashing. I don't know if the most recent demo has been patched. I got a sense that it looked promising, but not in the FM category yet.

I checked it out, but I don't have much confidence in EA to produce a decent sim game.
