Pharaoh is my #3 all-time favorite strategy game (after Pirates and Civ2). It's one of those rare games that ages well, even though it's not that old. Pharaoh (along with the Cleopatra expansion pack) is the best City Building game, imo.

I don't know about online, I bought my copies today at the store in the Front end caps close to the registers. It's a Christmas $1.00 promotion with other junk.
