lets see... Twila pissed off almost everyone on the jury, so I'd say chris wins.

But most of the jury hates dudes....the final vote is usually based not on personality but on who played the game the best.....(Chris played better in my opinion, while Twila played well but not as well....imho)

Stupid CBS feed keeps cutting out. Can't tell if it's my local affiliate or not, but both the satellite and antenna (digital HD feed) keep going away, including during the final 3 immunity challenge.

Chris did kick ass. The women's alliance was up 6 to 1 and he takes the money. Awesome, best end to the "oddest" Survivor I've seen.

what was with the whole "don't call if you're going to quit" comment by Jeff? Was he taking a stab at the survivor: all-stars quitters?

Yeah, I think it's pretty obvious that Jeff has a pet peave against those "survivors" that want to leave. I can't blame him, the show is his money maker and it would suck if they don't get the opportunity to vote people off at the end of the episode.

Having watched the show, I would have voted for Twila. If I had actually been out there, I'd have voted for Chris. Watching the show, though, you're privy to private conversations between players, and Twila had to *club Chris over the head* with the strategy needed to overthrow Ami's alliance at the final 7. Twila told him exactly what to do... it was her plan, not his -- though to his credit he executed the plan brilliantly.
He was the weakest of the men, got played by Jules at the merge, and unnecessarily lied to her and Eliza down the stretch (though he did a nice job winning those votes back at the final tribal). He did do a lot of things well, too -- particularly planning and executing his final two performance superbly (he blatantly bullshitted but the jury bought it and that's all that counts). A good player, but flawed winner, of a pretty mediocre season. On to Palau. *20* contestants next season???? Too many. |

I missed the first half hour or so. I'm sort of wondering how Chris screwed over Eliza. If I understand it correctly with him winning immunity, it was going to be two votes(Twila and Scout) for Eliza versus two (Chris and Eliza) for one of the others. There is no way Twila or Scout vote for each other, and the tie breaker at that point is, or at least has been, the drawing of rocks out of a bag. That process, IIRC, does not respect the immunity necklace. So if Chris didn't vote for Eliza, then he would have been jeopardizing his position. I just don't see how she could hold it against him unless she was feeling betrayed for his not voting for Twila in the last episode.
Also, I didn't see him "lying" all the time like Probst was mentioning. I think he lied to people who trusted him like twice. To Julie and Eliza when he voted Julie off. Even then he was being true to the alliance that got him where he was Twila and to a lesser degree Scout. |

He told her that he was going to vote for Twila and not to worry but to trust him. I think when it's a tie, immunity still stands.

I agree that voting for her was necesary - but once he had immunity, he does not have to lie to her. If the drawing of rocks does not respect the necklace (and it certainly makes the game more interesting if that is the case) he can just tell her - I have no choice. That lie was truly unnecesary.

I agree with the comment that Twyla had to beat Chris over the head with the gambit that swung the momentum against the womens' alliance...but he still played a pretty nice game when it got down near the end - especially some of the psycholgical stuff like trying to get Twyla to be as bitchy as possible.
He did make a mistake in lying to both Jules and Eliza - but he was probably insanely paranoid, too - maybe he figured that at any time the women could reunite into the all-women alliance and vote him right off. I have to think the paranoia at that point is pretty intense.

I do agree that there were several times during the game where the majority group could have just said "you are going home tonight" and avoid the lying bits. It seemed like this was one of the more vicious down-the-stretch runs Survivor has had. But one of these days I REALLY want one of the final 2 to get up and say: "You know what? Lying is part of the game. Everyone came up to me and asked 'are you with me?' If I didn't tell each and every one of you 'yes', I'd be sitting over there with you. So I did what I had to do to get to the final 2. If you're taking it personally, all I ask is that you keep in mind that it's possible for 2 football players to beat the ever living snot out of each other for 3 hours, and then go grab a beer afterward. This is part of the game. This who-lied-to-whom more bit is like getting upset during a game of B.S. because someone lied about what cards they discarded. I honestly liked most of you I lied to, but who I like best is not part of the game. And this is just a game."

One of the things that came to mind for me was how Ami and Leann treated Twila's switch to align with Chris and there goes Leann. Hello! No one bothered to remember that Ami and Leann were willing to turn on the women's alliance and vote out Eliza before all of the men were gone?

![]() I think Ami just got too cocky and figured that - hey - Eliza might not be her first choice, but why not throw a bone to the rest of the alliance and let them pick someone to vote out...she should have put her foot down and insisted Chris be sent packing. I am always amazed at how players let their personal feelings get in the way of strategy. If Leann had used a little foresight there, I think she would have seen that an alliance of Ami, herself, Eliza, and Jules would have been unbreakable...

I thought that Paschal had won immunity for that tie-breaking tribal council, and was thus undeserving of falling to the "rock". I guess it was just the fact that he hadn't received any votes that made me think his banishment was undeserved. Thanks for the link. I guess I see where he did betray Eliza, if she was going into that tribal council thinking she would have a chance to stick around by the forced lottery. I'm still not sure why Chris chose to stick with Twila and Scout over Eliza and Julie. In one way I can see that he was true to the key alliance members that kept him around, but at the same time I'm not so certain that he didn't just want to make sure that Twila was around for the last tribal council. |

I think he probably kept Scout and Twila around because they wouldn't be much in the way of physical competition. The last immunity challenge is usually based on endurance of some way. You really have to like your chances going up against people that much older than you especially when Scout is walking wounded. Twila impressed me with her determination, though. |

That dog! Although Julie is super hot though.
------------------------------------------------- Jeff Probst has had many adventures as host of Survivor, such as hacking out of the Vanuatu brush, skydiving over the California desert and zooming into this season's finale on a big hog (motorcycle, that is). So who knew the biggest adventure for Probst would be embracing a new love? Probst, 43, and Survivor: Vanuatu's fifth finalist, Julie Berry, who turned 24 Wednesday, are a couple. "Nobody is more surprised than me that I could find my love affair on a show that I host," Probst tells PEOPLE, "but the truth is when something like this gets dropped in your lap, you don't look at how it's wrapped, you don't look at how it's being delivered. You just put your arms around it and you hold on because this is my love affair and there's no question in my mind about it." Rumors of a relationship started among viewers who noticed Berry sporting a dabbed-on heart tattoo with "Jeff" scrawled on it during one episode. "That was just harmless fun," Berry told the Portland Press Herald. Probst concurs. "The funny thing was there was this perception we were flirting on the show," he says, "and that was actually just fun stuff on the show. I didn't really talk to Julie until long after the show was over." After production on Vanuatu wrapped over the summer, Probst says he e-mailed Berry just to say hello. "Once we started spending some time together, I didn't have any doubt. I didn't have any doubt and all the questions about how you meet and any potential obstacles, they fade away like an old dry leaf." Happily, Probst adds, "I'm in love. I'm with her. I'm with her family, and there ain't no turning back. When you find it, you know and now I get it. The funniest thing is people used to always say, 'you'll know,' and I'd think, 'Oh, shut it! Let me tell ya, I've been around long enough, I don't know.' And then suddenly one day, I knew. Now I am one of those irritating people that is now saying, 'you'll know.'" Berry, a youth mentor from Gorham, Maine, is moving to California to pursue her master's degree in family counseling. Probst is in Los Angeles, having returned from shooting the 10th season of the series, Survivor: Palau. Probst was married to psychotherapist Shelley Wright from 1996 until 2001.
