I went to a Sonics game last night
And I have to admit it was very enjoyable even though I wouldn't watch an NBA game on TV if you threatened my life. I think Sasquatch ranks in the top echelon of mascots in any sport. Ichiro was throwing t-shirts into the crowd. I did notice what is wrong with the NBA and why it has taken a dive in popularity. #1 is the throwing up of 3 pointers any chance you get, even on the fast break. It's very frustrating to watch a team break out 3 on 2 only to see one guy get the ball behind the line and lob up a brick. #2 is the refs. The first half was great back and forth basketball, but in the second half the refs were awful, calling bad fouls on almost every posession. Totally ruined the flow of the game. And they missed a ton of fouls while calling chintzy ones. Overall though, a great experience.

Going to games is much different than watching them on tv of course. Most of them are always very fun, unless you go to a Warriors game then its a slow torture.
Although, last season I went to a warriors game and I saw a young kid with a sign saying "Adonal Foyle is God" Great to see that the youngster had a sense of humor about the whole situation. |
