why transfer compare is useless...
This is the transfer compare you can get on my latest youth pull...

No wonder it didn't find any match, look at the crazy criterias it's setting: "Age = 18 & Winger=solid & Playmaking=wretched & Stamina=inadequate & Passing=weak & Defending=passable " FM

Until they allow you to have some level of control over transfer compare (like "inadequate or below stamina", wretched < "PM" < passable, etc.), it will oftentimes be worthless. I find it's completely worthless for trying to get a bead on a winger, having just poked around for one. I do like the feature and hope that they will get it to work well for all players at some point.

i agree there are times when it is completely useless...but i've also found it to be very accurate for players whose sell price is only dependant on 1 or 2 attributes...i imagine the only way it would be useful for people that want a Transfer Compare on a player with more than 2 relevant skills, would be for it to allow us to search the engine the way we currently do for the transfers (by selecting our own parameters)...i doubt that we'll ever see that, but i suppose one could argue that it's not "fair" to a person that doesn't need the Transfer Compare for a GK, Forward, etc

I think it should let you select criteria much in the same way you can select criteria on the transfer list page. IMO it shouldn't even be tied to a player.
Under "Bids" they should add transfer compare and they could make it the same exact screen as the transfer lsit. Then you put in your info and click enter and it gives you a list of guys who match who were sold in the last week

Or easier, only transfer compare on the highest sill of the player. Period. Ignore the "secondaires"

Unless I'm missing something, there's not an option to pick an choose which skill to compare, is there?
Back to FM's case, it's a kludge, but what I do in a case like that is look for identical primary skills on a player on the transfer wire. Then try their transfer compare because they might have a comparable set of useless secondaries. SI

You guys are right. Anything involving secondaries becomes a worthless attempt. Try this with any winger....get a guy like a brilliant/brilliant wing/pm guy...a really nice player, right?
He'd transfer compare against an IM with the same PM, passing, and endurance...not even consider the wing skill. So a $5.25m player becomes a player valued at less than half that. |
