Ah Bloomington. I spent about 3 years living there during the week working as a consultant for State Farm.

I just did. Fast cars, fast women, great nightlife, Bloomington has none of that. Although it does have Illinois State.

Edit: and like 20,000 people working in the insurance industry as SF and Countrywide are both headquartered there. Correlation with the above statement?

After driving through Bloomington this weekend, I discovered that they have quite a poor selection of radio stations.

Went really well, in my opinion.

Two folks doing the interview, one is presumably the HR chick, the other the guy who's job I'm taking (he's being promoted). Got the dude who's job I'm taking to freely admit that aside from one small piece of software (which he admittedly RARELY uses), I've got the experience with all the tools he uses. And I got the laughs/smiles. Hooray.

Now we wait.

Fuck yes I did.

I was dissapointed though. I got lost on the way in (directions I had were wrong) and was joking with the receptionist while trying to get navigated in. She sounded hot on the phone.

...

And wasn't in person.

Welp, so much for that. Assholes.

This went through a recruiter, who called me several hours after the interview. They liked my skills. They said I had everything they need. And proceeded to go on, saying they don't want me, because I used the word 'hell' during the course of our discussion. Because of that, I am not a good fit.

And I say to that. If they're gonna call me on that, I've got a lot worse words I wouldn't mind using for their benefit.

You cursed at your interview? For shame!

Oh well, cross it off as another stupid lesson. I mean, they do realize that people actually curse at times?

Sorry man. But at least you found out now what it was like. Imagine taking the job and then their reaction if you used something a little heavier.

Hey, I realize perhaps I should not have cursed, but really. A combination of both nervous and relaxed, spending an hour hoping to present myself in a good way. Middle of a mid-interview story, mildly swear (and frankly, I don't even consider that a 'bad' word). Deal with it.

Fuckem. I shoulda set them on fire.
