Disaster of an AI
So we are up 17-10 with less than 2 minutes left and are running the clock out, but instead we run 2 plays and attempt 58 yard field goal.
They get the ball with 5 seconds left throw a bomb draw a pass interference penalty and get the ball at the 2. Then they proceed to throw a TD to tie the game. In OT they win the game. Here's my drive chart I don't save the logs. Minnesota Drive Chart Quar Began Poss From Plays Yards Result 1 7:15 1:25 OWN 39 3 2 Punt 1 3:29 4:34 OWN 36 9 64 Touchdown 2 10:02 4:48 OWN 27 8 29 Punt 2 3:06 1:05 OWN 48 3 9 Punt 2 1:01 0:27 OPP 48 3 4 Punt 3 15:00 1:58 OWN 27 3 -5 Punt 3 11:30 1:53 OWN 2 3 8 Punt 3 3:45 5:29 OWN 30 8 70 Touchdown 4 11:37 1:31 OWN 5 3 5 Punt 4 9:00 6:15 OWN 20 10 51 Field Goal 4 1:49 1:44 50 2 9 Missed FG OT1 15:00 1:16 OWN 26 3 7 Punt I was actually watching the PBP so I know for a fact they kicked a 58 yard field goal on 3rd down instead of running the clock out, anyone see any logic in this? |

Here is their drive chart to prove they used the bad clock management to tied it up and send it into OT after that play.

..and to think they picked up Tice's option.
![]() The thing I hate is late in a game, you're up and your team is still passing the ball instead of running out the clock with running plays. I call it Martz logic. Todd Last edited by MizzouRah : 12-28-2004 at 02:01 AM. |

I'd send that game log to support and see if they can explain it. That's just odd. |

So adjust your game plan to make them run more when up late.

that why pressing the recommend button on gameplans is not a good idea to do.
it doesnt do a good job. for example i have DB's that was great vs the Zone only, and i use the recommend button on gameplans it wants to put a high % on man to man it best to do your own gameplans and tweak it yourself |

average for offense and excellent for defense. But even an average offense head coach could figure out with 12 seconds left on 3rd down you run the clock out if yur up 7, not attempt a 58 yard field goal. |

I've done that, maybe I'll up it some more, but I think the game should have another tidbit on the coaches card like: likes to run, likes to pass, almost always runs, almost always passes, etc... I want to know what kind of coach I've hired, what is his reputation? Maybe show his % of calling running vs passing plays. Maybe in a future version? Todd |
