OT: Family Guy coming back soon?

According to AICN , family guy creator, Seth McFarlane released some stuff recently of the 4th season. I know they have been saying for months now and maybe even longer that, that the show is on the way back, but here is to hoping it is coming soon.

It's coming back in June I believe. Fox is going to play the show and Adult Swim plays it that same week.

Fox finally realized they were idiots for canceling it when Family Guy was one of the top selling DVDs of the year.

Unfortunately they will never realize how stupid they were for mishandling and cancelling Futurama. Meanwhile, crap like Trading Spouses stays on.

Yup. Futurama was at least 10x better than anything The Simpsons has come out with in the last 3 years.

Agreed. It was a good, fitting successor to the Simpsons but they just botched it completely, giving it every time spot except the one it should have been in. I can't believe they never understood why every show they put in that 7:30 time slot between The Simpsons and The X-Files (and whatever else has been in there sense) was always ratings gold. Then they would farm it off to some godforsaken time slot like up against Friends or something and never understood why they sucked in ratings.

Frankly, it's amazing King of the Hill has survived as long as it has- like or hate the show, it's got a hideous time slot where half the time it's pre-empted by football (Futurama's problem, too) and it's been moved at least twice that I can remember before that.

I still will never understand that cult popularity that Family Guy enjoys. No one watched it on Fox (see: time slot problem above, perhaps) but as soon as it moves to CN, all these "fans" come out of the woodwork.

I never watch FG until it came to AS, and I fell in love with it. It just seemed to get alot of bad publicity due to it's racy stories, things, ect. on FOX, and FOX just seem to not handle the show correctly.

I think that's the issue. It was moved around so much that nobody knew where to find it. Once Cartoon Network began showing it in a solid time slot, people watched. Then they bought the DVD's in record numbers and Fox realized they could make money off of it. I still expect them to screw up the rebirth. I don't understand the logic of starting it in June, but I guess it might help the ratings since it won't be up against anything new.

I know definitely for the last season, and I believe that last two seasons of Family Guy it was on Thursday nights at either 8 or 9 - hence the dreaded vs. NBC Thursday time slot.

Fox did the same thing with Dark Angel - move it to Friday nights and then not understand why it's losing viewers when your target audience is 18-36 year old guys. There are some geniuses running that network.

May 1st, 9PM EST. Fans who have gotten sneak peaks at the upcoming episodes said that it is even better than the previous seasons.
