Missouri residents: get ready for the dirtiest stretch of highway ever. (KKK)
Ya think there might be a little extra trash thrown out in this section of the road???

Remind me to take a nasty shit or two in an old white sheet and toss it out there. Maybe I'll cut out some eye holes first.

Isn't the KKK run its course already? I mean, come on guys, its got a little old. Time to pack it up and do something else with your life.

When my windows are down and I smell road poop, I'll think of WSU.

I unfortunatly used to have to drive through the stretch of highway that was in question. In what I consider a rare, brillant move by the State of Missouri they renamed the stretch of highway adopted by the KKK the Rosa Parks exressway. I thought this had been settled years ago though?

That's pretty funny. Still, I don't see what the big deal is. The KKK gets a little road sign, and has to pick up some trash. I predict the sign will be perpetually pockmarked with buckshot holes, and the Klan is going to have a ton of garbage to deal with. |

Yeah, I find it more humorous than anything else. My prediction is that they'll get so overwhelmed with trash on "their" stretch of highway that they'll drop out of the program, anyway.

That's a level of genius equivalent to an auctioneer up here in suburban Detroit actually selling Klan memorabilia as part of an auction on Saturday this week. That would be Martin Luther King, Jr.'s actual birthday. Heard on the news today he's finally done the sharp thing and taken the items (including a robe which he had displayed at the front of his store for a bit before the uproar caused him to remove it) off the block because of the conflicting date. |

Yes, the Missouri Adopt-A-Highway program is for some reason a magnet for controversey. In the early '90s there was an outcry from religious groups because a tree druid organization adopted a highway and some of the local church groups objected because they didn't want "satan" worshippers adopting a highway. Do the math on that one.

In the late 80s(may have been the early 90s) when the KKK adopted a section of Hwy 65 in northern Arkansas everyone predicted the same dirty road 'rebellion'...HOWEVER...the state troopers and county sheriffs made a MINT on littering fines over that one mile stretch of road...just something to consider.

I wonder why they didn't adopt part of Harlem River Drive...

When I was at Mizzou in '99/'00, there was an outcry over the same thing. I wonder if this is just the result of a few years of appeals, or what.
