OT: Grant Hill goes back to Detroit .. (About the game)
.. I was very glad to see the Detroit fans giving Grant Hill the standing ovation he rightfully deserved. He was probably the biggest class act that Detroit has seen that wasn't Steve Yzerman or Barry Sanders, and even though he left to go to Orlando, he still went on radio stations to answer fans questions on why he did it. It was all of these things that made him one of my favorite players.
His career since then has been marred by that ankle, but for him to be back this year and playing like an All Star, and to finally come back to Detroit after 4 years, and recieve a standing ovation he didn't think he'd get, that was something else. Today is a day I am proud to say I am a Pistons fan, even if it were for something as simple as a standing ovation, the Pistons fans remembered the guy who kept the dark times from being pitch black. Kudos to Grant Hill and Pistons fans, it was quite a sight to see. |
