Stadium Expansion Decision
I expanded my stadium(using the stadium sizer) earlier this year to a little over 13,000.
I'm wondering whether or not I should expand again this offseason before costs increase next year. I have about $70K in the bank and could spend that and more to do another small expansion. Yes I am aware it takes like $30K just to mobilize the contractor but it'd be cheaper to do now rather than wait. I have 611 supporters and i might need another few thousand seats. I have only had 3 home games since I expanded it the first time, once I was only 100 short of a sellout, the other two were 1-2K short of a sellout. I didn't promote and should fair pretty well in my division/series next year. What do ya'll think? THx! jd |

Assuming you're okay with trainees and team improvements, I would certainly give expansion a consideration. Particularly, if you ended the season on a good note (thus, continue to gain fans during the offseason). Personally, I would consider expanding as much as I can afford to without threatening the bankrupcy line (even up to about 650-700 X 35). If you can continue to show good form next season and continue to gain fans, you can probably use those seats. As an alternative, you could consider adding 5 really, REALLY nice seats. (And I'm very much joking about that. Please don't actually do it.)
Gawd, this response took way more effort than it should. Even other word I type, I keep glancing up and shuddering at the "Thx". |

I just expanded my stadium to 98 thou....I am probably going to promote to IV and figured I would rather pay the 600 thou now, then the 1.2 mil later LOL I know thats a huge stadium for only IV-V but, in the long run I think it will save me the money.

no, they didn't, but wouldn't it be cool if they announced they were going to triple after next season starts?

Well I just went for it. I expanded for a 2nd time this season...this time going from 15,000 to 23,000. I plan to sell my worst IM trainee in a few days in hopes of recouping about half of the stadium cost however.

how old and what level is your trainee? I considered upgrading again but i'm not sure i'll exceed 65k for a season or so... Nice of them to update the attendance equations while at the same time increasing the price of stadium upgrades. |

I've bump my total stadium capacity from 50k to 85,500 using the standard formula, my team finished in 2nd place in iv.53 and plan to continue their success in upcoming. Team finished on a good note, so gaining more fans should not be a concern. My series should be basically a 4 team race, so I'm hoping for some good attendance numbers also.

Sweeeet, today the Hellraisers increased their mighty stadium from 13500 to 21,000 seats...using the Arena Sizer of course.
Took a bit of a hit financially, but if I have 4 home sellouts, the increased difference will pay for the expansion/construction costs. Too bad I'm such a noob and didn't realize I had a Cup Match otherwise I"d have completed the stadium before that match. Unless it gets done early, it's scheduled to be done 2 days after my Cup match. oh well.....bring on next season!!! ph |

I had upgraded to 65000 seats a few weeks ago, then I saw where damnmikebrown had upgraded to 100k and got arena envy so I kicked mine up again and now it's on the way to 85000. Hopefully I'll have some moderate cup success again like I did last season when I reached round 6 or go on some crazy run of series wins, which doesn't look likely.

The Sidekicks will be playing in front of 102,000 seats next season. In other words, the Sidekicks will be playing in front of 40,000 (at least) empty seats.
