Autumn Thunder!

Just got Autumn Thunder, the 10-CD set from NFL Films, and I gotta say it is AWESOME!

Quite pricey at $89, but with 182 songs and over 8 hours of listening enjoyment, I'm glad I made the investment.

Got a favorite tune already: One Day. One Game. I think it's one of the songs played on the NFL Network a_lot (that's for you, Skydog ).

Great for setting the mood while I sit down to strategize how the Oregon Ice will win their second CFL Championship this season!

I've had this for a few weeks, it kicks ass. I think my favorite tune may be The Mob, though I also like Whallop Shuffle a lot (all of Disk 5 is great).

I've been listening to my favorites in iTunes, but haven't actually made it to disks 7-10. I generally have been more of a fan of the Sam Spence works than of the newer compositions...guess I still should go through them though, huh?

I love Sam Spence, but since I got the set, I really like David Robidoux's music. It's like Spence, but with a modern spin.

Drive to Glory is one of the best, and is played regularly on NFL Network.

This is somewhat unrelated, but I've got a question. I actually found out about the CD set while I was doing a search for a very popular NFL Films song a week or two ago. Back in the day I had this old VHS which had highlights from all of the Super Bowls up to the one that featured the Skins and the Broncos (forgot the number). Anyways, I definitely place this video and the old-school NFL with the song I'm thinking of and I think it should be pretty familiar to A LOT of people around here, but I've got no idea as to how to describe it. I think the tuba plays a large role in the song.

Does anyone have any idea as to what I'm referring to? I feel like I've just made a total Suicane post.

Could be Round Up, by Sam Spence. You can listen to a sample at Amazon.com on the The Power and the Glory CD. It's also on Autumn Thunder.

That would have been my guess as well.

The mention of Skins/Broncos reminds me though - that highlight show was on recently, and I really like their version of Hail to the Redskins (and how it ties into the clips) that they play as the Skins destroy the Broncs in the 2nd quarter.

I thought I was the only one that played FOF with Autumn Thunder in the CD player... man, these discs are great. Missing a few tunes that I was hoping would be on there, but also finding some new favorites that I wasn't familiar with. Worth the money!

wow, just came across this collection online and can't wait to get my hands on it. but since the price tag is a little steep i may hold off a bit.

The Power and the Glory is one of my most-listened to CDs. I regularly go back to it when i'm just not in the mood for any other stuff.
